Teach your child “WHAT TO DO” to potentially save someone from drowning !!!

- **Recognize what drowning LOOKS LIKE**: It is not screaming for help or lots of thrashing/splashing. Drowning is silent!

- **CALL for help, & Report abnormal behavior **: 😱 Encourage them to tell you if they 'think' they see something. (important they know it's okay to report to adults, even if it is eventually a false alarm!)

- **Reach out from a safe distance **: Use a long stick, pool pole, rope, noodle, or even a hula hoop! Use anything that victims could get a good grip on.

- **Throw floaters at Victims **: Throw anything that floats and that they can grab on to.

- **DON'T GO TO SAVE VICTIM **: Even if your child can swim. Make it clear that Drowning victims are dangerously aggressive in their effort to survive
