Part 2 of the Turbo Interceptor 650 will be LIVE this weekend! The ECU was a Fiasco, LMK what you think;

Tthe Piggyback tuner that we used for this bike (Powertronic) prevented the bike from starting when it was installed. After a full day of troubleshooting, I came to the conclusion that something was wrong with the wiring/wiring harness.

After contacting PT, they requested a picture of the ECU, to which I sent them one. Somehow, this bike (and I suspect, most USA model Interceptor 650's in 2022) has a Euro 4 ECU, and their kit was for Euro 5.

The thing is - they have 3 different models listed of their tuner; India Spec, Euro 4, and Euro 5. The year range that they give is 2018-2020 for E4, 2021-2023 for E5. They make no distinctions or caveat's on their website about USA bikes possibly still being E4, they just give the year range for their tuner and that's it. Since the bike is a 2022, we ordered a 2021-2023 tuner for it and that's what they sent us.

We ordered the correct part for what's listed on their site, the same as anyone else would, just so I'm crystal clear.

After 2 minutes of digging, it's actually common for 2022 Int 650's to still be Euro 4. But why should we be expected to know this? There's no way this is the first time this has happened! How many other people have had to shell out $165 for a harness that should've been spec'd based off the ECU that's in it in the first place?

After all this was said and done.....they wouldn't exchange the harness or return the piggyback, and the only option they left us with was to spend $165 on the Euro 4 harness. This happened over a week ago now and I'm still pissed off about it. Turbo fab is done, bike is ready for the initial tuning, and we're sitting around waiting for the wiring harness to show up....

What are your thoughts on this?

Turbo Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (part 1) is LIVE

As is customary, I like to fill you guys in on these community posts;

On this build, we're leaving no stone unturned. It's going to be one of the wildest Interceptor 650's ever built, and one that was built with the intention of being RIDDEN! Not only are we going to add a bunch of power, we're going to be addressing the suspension and brakes as well. Ohlin's makes an adjustable preload kit that we'll be putting on once the turbo setup is up and running, and we'll be upgrading to some EBC Sintered Pads for some better stopping power.

We're keeping our eyes out for a good set of tires (they're 18's front and rear). If you have a suggestion for a more performance oriented set of kicks, drop a comment and let us know. The customer wants to run the fattest tire we can squeeze on the back within reason, and upgrade the front tire to something much more grippy.

We went ahead and switched to a Cafe Racer seat and tail section, and I'll be shortening the rear of the bike as it just ruins the look to have the frame running way back past the axle. The side covers are going to be color matched to the baker-express theme of the bike and it's going to look super sharp! All of the engine covers are going to be ceramic coated "burnt bronze" which is going to take this bike to the next level.

As said before, we're running a Genuine Garrett GT12, non-intercooled but with water/methanol injection. The final shots of the build video will be done on 10psi, which in my mind is a very conservative boost level considering the methanol injection.

In part two, we'll be finishing off the turbo fabrication, getting the clutch installed, along with the oil feed/oil drain taken care of, installing the powertronic ecu, the wideband......and by the end of the video, going for a short first ride. Boost will be way down, I'll be starting at pretty much 0psi and slowly working it in. I'm always extra cautious on customer builds, even more so with the bike being only a few years old.

See you tomorrow!

Turbo Royal Enfield Interceptor Racer is well under way. This is a no budget build with high dollar components galore (Tial BOV, Genuine Garrett GT12, Water/Methanol Injection, Ohlins fork kit, Rekluse Clutch, Tires etc.). We're also doing a proper Full Stainless Cafe Racer Exhaust on this bike as well, which is really going to step the quality up even more.

Feeling really fortunate right now that this Customer reached out and went through with commissioning a build. It really was not in the budget to fund yet another build from my own pocket, and the fact that the customer is more concerned with quality and not price is such a breath of fresh air man. So tired of scrounging on every build and doing the bare minimum, just to barely break even.

It's time to move on from working on, building, and (to some extent) riding Carbureted Motorcycles. The dirt/grime/crustyness, the inevitable leaks and problems, the cold-bloodedness etc. wears you down after a while. Been fiddling with carbs, jetting/tuning for close to 20 years now; this has been on my mind for at least a couple years now. From a financial standpoint, it just doesn't seem like there's that much money to be made working on and building old carb'd stuff. Not saying it can't be done, but there's very few people who're down to drop $6k for parts on a bike that they bought for $300. Which seems very logical now that I type this out, lol.

With the proceeds from this build, and also selling a couple of my personal bikes, I'm going to buy something modern to build. If you have any suggestions for a modern bike to build that you'd like to see, I'm all ears! EFI is mandatory, and I have a strong preference for v-twins.

Finally - Thanks to everyone on here, and especially people who directly support on patreon, for engaging and continuing to watch. Content from here on out is going to be done on fresh builds only, past bikes will be sold and the builds will be evolving to more than just the same old Jap bike with turbo setup and a lick of paint.

Part one of the Turbo Interceptor Racer will be coming soon, hope to see you there!

I will be at the Front Row Moto Show Tomorrow in Downtown Phoenix with my KZ650 Scrambler and a Customer's Turbo XJ650 Cafe Racer. This show is hosted by ‪@eleven10motogarage‬, more details about the show can be found on their website, frontrowmotoshow.com/

We're going to ride the bikes there and will likely arrive around 8-8:30. Both bikes are straight piped so you'll know it's us, hehe. Hope to see you there!

Part 1 of the Buell "PSiclone" Version 2.0 is LIVE!

As I usually do in community posts, I want to start off by thanking those of you who've been continuing to watch the channel, especially in the past year as much of the content has been new versions of old builds. I realize that many people are not interested in seeing old builds re-hashed out in perpetuity; I've actually ran out of builds to re-do, lol. I just felt that the original versions of these bikes weren't up to snuff, and didn't feel right trying to sell any of them with the flux-core welded turbo setups.

I've been going over the KZ650 Turbo with a fine tooth comb, fixing all of the small details and getting it reliable. Actually just finished going through the top end, all new gaskets, new rings w/opened up gap, new valve stem seals, ported head, opened up combustion chambers to lower compression, and a million other small details. This bike will be for sale soon.

2024 is going to be the year where we FINALLY get into an actual shop, and shortly thereafter....my own dyno! Very excited for this....the possibilities are endless!

Hope you enjoy this build....it's the quickest turbo bike that I've built so far. The 40-80mph time with the old setup was 4.3ish, which is pretty slow lol. The 40-80mph with the Headwork and Cams + race gas and 12psi of boost (done in part 2) gets it down well into the 2's! For perspective, a Hellcat does 40-80 in about 3 seconds flat. This bike is a wheelie machine, and by far one of the most fun bikes I've built. Hope you enjoy!

Ironhead Sportster "Will it Run?" Is coming this weekend, hope to see you there. Need to finish up the front brakes, get a tank on it, get a chain....we might end up actually riding this old thing!

Finally took one of my builds to the dyno, it will be in the next video. PSiclone Version 2.0 is a freaking beast! After the dyno, we went ahead and did some minor head porting, valve-springs/retainers/seals, and some upgraded cams, which really took it over the top. It's a wheelie monster......on just 8psi of boost! It's so crazy what an animal this thing is even on low boost, the headwork and cams just took it over the top. Race gas is going in the tank tomorrow, going to get a few pulls in on at least 12psi of boost for the final parts of the video.

See you soon!
