This scripture is actually telling us Satan's very thoughts prior to his first attempt to take over the universe from God's control. He became corrupted BY his beauty and splendor, which is something that women in particular are very vulnerable too since most of their psyche is wrapped up in their looks, vanity and beauty.
This dark spirit has been on earth corrupting all of mankind ever since. He first tempted Eve with power, power over Adam and man. It's taught in the occult that once Eve obeyed Satan was then able to corrupt her in particular because she lusted for power and "godhood" being willing to make a deal with Satan to get that power. It's said that he then merged or had "spiritual sex" with Eve, thus corrupting her DNA and altering her very mental and emotional makeup, at least while Satan is currently on the throne.
Satan eventually became So vain and cocky, that he thought and still thinks that he is smarter and more powerful than God. He attempted to take over God's position in an ancient intergalactic "Star (angel) War" which was fought between Michael and Satan and all their angels, thus ruining the earth and the entire universe.
Now Satan knows that he has a short time left to rule, corrupt and deceive the world and he is ramping up the violence and deception more and more each day.
