I support that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) should be tenure-fixed post. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is also in favor of it, his lordship has expressed such thoughts in his multiple speeches.
BUT
The timing of the current CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT is questionable and mala fide of Government is apparent. The object behind the legislation is not to reform the judiciary but to restrain Justice Mansoor Ali Shah to become the next Chief Justice on 26th October 2024.
