An interesting side note to the Pigeon Lake vid is that night after the fish fillets were salted and in the fridge, I went out and caught 26 night crawlers from the gardens replacing those I used to catch the fish!

Nothing better than a fishing captain/mate with a nice boat and an excitement to take someone like me fishing for fat salmon!

I was backing the trailer in to pick the boat last night and no brakes! I pumped once and nothing. By this time the muffler was gurgling underwater and the truck was heading for the brink. I decided in the instant to slam the gearing in drive and give the engine juice, which worked out. I slammed the old jalopy in park once the trailer was the right position to load the boat.
Got the boat out, called in a favor to pull the boat home, and a wrecker to pull the truck to the mechanic. 18 year old truck no big surprise here. I will be looking for a 7-8 year old truck as a replacement.

I've been lending thoughts towards these differing panfish limits here in Manitowoc County. There are lakes with 5/15, seasonal 5/15, 10/25, and 25. In the old days this limit was 25 all the time and it took some time for me, at least, to become used to even considering these limits as morally acceptable. But these more restrictive limits seem to be working in terms of larger fish as per my catch experience. Here is a WDNR letter the search engine offered when looking for panfish growth rates for a video I want to do on a philosophical idea I have: dnr.wisconsin.gov/sites/default/files/topic/About/…
