Starting today, the public bus service in Bali is no more. Funding arrangements weren’t renewed so the buses have stopped. It was a fantastic service while it lasted.

Merry Christmas from a very rainy Sanur. A massive storm is ripping through the area this morning.

Unfortunately the other half of La Playa’s deck has fallen into the ocean. The beach path this morning looks like a bomb has hit it.
The sand on the path is half a foot deep in places.

The past week has been filled with heavy rain interspersed with the odd glimpse of the sun. It's wet in Bali!

A very polluted morning here in Sanur. It looks to be associated with Sulphur Dioxide in the atmosphere which is often associated with volcanic activity. I’m guessing it’s a hangover from the eruption in Flores a couple of weeks back.

If you’re into coffee, there’s no better way to start your morning in Sanur than a walk along the beach followed by a coffee at one of the many coffee shops around town. This is one of my favourites? What’s your favourite?

Sad news. Mango Taru burnt down tonight in a massive fire. For those that don’t know it, it’s located on Jalan Danau Tamblingan across from the Besakih Hotel
