Oktay Usta, whose full name is Oktay Aymelek, was born on September 27, 1968 in the village of Gökçesu Kadılar in the Mengen district of Bolu. He is the youngest of 6 children of a cook father.
He worked in five-star hotels such as Boldum Milta Holiday Village, TMT Holiday Village, Bodrum Hotel, Alanya Alara Hotel, Uludağ Grand Yazıcı Kervan Saray, Marmaris Sarıyer and Iber Hotel. Later, he worked at Cafe de Pari in Bebek, Ortaköy Ziya restaurant and Topkapı Eresin Hotel in Istanbul. He went to Spain to promote Turkish cuisine.
In 1998, he won the bronze medal and the first place in the cooking competition in London.
He won 2 silver medals in the competition in Malta in 1999 and 1 gold medal in London in 2000.
He started working at The Plaza Hotel in 2000.
In 1998, she first participated in the program of Perihan Savaş. Afterwards, he started to broadcast live on different programs. In 1998, he became a media chef on television with his own program, Yeşil Elma, on Samanyolu TV.
