Black Sea Storm started as a side project in 2002 near the Mexican border in San Diego, California. Its founder Ali Deniz Ozkan was at the time actively playing bass guitar in touring bands in the United States. Black Sea Storm remained a recording project for several years, more regularly releasing albums.
In 2011 the project became Ali’s sole musical outlet. The band moved to Buenos Aires in 2017 and embraced the nomadic life in 2018. The live performances started the same year, playing on Peru, Chile, and Argentina streets. In 2019 Black Sea Storm played its first official show in Yucatán, Mexico. Since then, the band has performed nearly 50 shows, mainly in Latin America.
In 2022 Black Sea Storm went to tour Türkiye and performed 21 concerts in this country. Since November 2022, Black Sea Storm has returned to Mexico to play some shows and work on the next album.
