Singer and Guitarist Bill Johnson's been associated with many established artists as a supporting guitarist going back to the early 80s. In 2008 he began releasing his own music, and since then has been recognized in many circles as a sincere talent. He’s been honoured with award nods including a Juno nomination and four Maple Blues Nominations. A native son of Victoria on Vancouver Island he's managed to maintain a career in the blues for over 30 years, from the smallest of venues on the west coast Islands, some without electricty, to the nations capital.
In 2010 he had a brush with success and heartbreak. While his music surged in popularity his wife Susan was discovered to have metastatic breast cancer. Faced with pursuing his career while supporting his wife he chose to remain close to home. Letting any gains slip away they fought the disease in private until 2022 with her loss.
As of 2023 Johnson is occasionally performing with group Shades Of Blue.
