A trailblazing songwriter, frontman, and producer, Bluhm has seemingly done it all: founded a beloved rock n roll band, signed with one of the music industry’s most iconic figures, performed alongside his heroes, opened up his own recording studio, mentored younger artists, and even launched his own festival. But it all came crashing down quite literally when Bluhm lost control of his glider in a speed flying accident a few years back. Bluhm headed to the Cash Cabin, Johnny Cash’s small sanctuary-turned-recording-studio in TN, to record SORTA SURVIVING, his first solo album in a decade. Produced by Widespread Panic’s Dave Schools, the collection is earnestly authentic and utterly timeless, pulling from a half-century of American music to craft a thoroughly modern love letter to a bygone era.
