This basically sums up life in Nicaragua. Everything someone says must be wrong with it turns out to be about the US. Anytime anyone has something negative to say about Nicaragua ask yourself: "If I stopped them there and said Wait, don't you mean America" you'd be right, basically every time. Every time someone asks me "But aren't you afraid of X happening", that X is... something we actually were and/or are afraid of back in the USA, but not anymore because we are here. There's never a made up "Nicaragua is bad because of..." and the thing isn't something currently happening in the US, or caused in Nicaragua by the US. Never. It's never a "made up" concern, it's 100% of the time a deflection of real fear onto another target.

According to my recent experiences, this ad for an extension cord has a 50/50 chance of being seen by someone and sent to me as "proof that the government has been hiding the secrets of endless, free power from the people" and that some AI bot on YouTube has exposed the secrets of the universe and proven all science wrong because you can clearly see that it is plugged in and providing power without a wall socket!" And then I'd immediately be called stupid for not being "skeptical" which has become the term for "believing immediately on pure faith" something that they just made up on the spot. The lack of science, observation, understanding of what a photograph is and the total misunderstanding of basic vocabulary has been so... predictable.

This is a great chart that helps to explain why Europe isn't on my shortlist on where to live. Awesome place but more tourists than locals makes for a very different living experience. It's hard to feel like there is strong local culture when tourists drive the economy. #chart #expat #livingabroad #movingabroad #travel #tourism #relocation

This idiot from Chinandega drove an eighteen wheeler onto the protected pedestrian way and drove right over all of the beautiful new decorative old fashioned street lamps that had just recently been installed (faroles.) Lots of damage and now the truck is parked taking up the entire walkway for the cathedral!
