At the ICI, we believe that inclusion of people with disabilities in all areas of society is both a civil right and a human right. Since 1967, we have engaged in research, consultation, and collaboration with self-advocates, striving to increase inclusion in health care, education, employment, and all aspects of community life.
Our institute runs multiple initiatives, including Think College and ThinkWork. Think College is a national movement to improve access to higher education for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or IDD. ThinkWork combines a range of projects related to increasing employment opportunities for people with IDD.
We are based in the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
