Where am I?
I have been visiting the United States, where I grew up from January 15, and I'll be here until February 8! This is actually the first time I have visited my hometown, where I grew up in 7 years!
Amidst visiting family and friends, I am filming a long form vlog here in my usual style.
Thank you to everyone who watched my recent borsch review in Kaliningrad, I know that was a shorter clip, but have no fear, we have much longer form episodes on the way, right when I get back.
My travel goals this year:
-Long distance 3 week overland journey from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬, through Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, and crossing the border back into our favourite Russia 🇷🇺.
-1 week in beautiful Belarus 🇧🇾
I also have long form vlogs already filmed in the editing backlog exploring the post-socialist Warsaw Pact Legacies of Poland 🇵🇱, Czechia 🇨🇿, and GDR 🇩🇪.
Also in the editing backlog is an unedited never before seen vlog of Soviet Tallinn 🇪🇪 .
So lots on the way! Just bear with me while I serve out the rest of my time here in the USA 🇺🇸 before going back to Ireland 🇮🇪.

I really thought it was interesting that the old Lutheran churches left behind from the days of East Prussia in the Kaliningrad region were converted into Russian Orthodox churches.

We explore the smaller beach town of Zelenogradsk, which is accessible by bus, train, or taxi from Kaliningrad city. Zelenogradsk was called Cranz back in the old East Prussian days, and most of its original buildings from that time are still there, giving the town a unique style.
We explore both the old Prussian and then Soviet history, but most importantly..
We meet the cats of Zelenogradsk. Zelenogradsk is basically the Russian capital city for cats, and you will see why when you watch my video.

🌟 700 Subscribers Milestone Already!? – Thank You!!! 🌟
Okay, I can't believe this is already happening after just 3 days since my last post. I am so grateful and thankful for all of the people who have decided to support my channel growth by subscribing. We are racing to the 1000 subscriber mark, which is widely regarded as a major point for Youtube creators getting off the ground.
I am about 90% complete with the next video in Zelenogradsk - The Russian Capital City of Cats. In addition to many cats, there will also be the usual historical overviews, both Soviet and former Prussian as Zelenogradsk is a beautiful coastal resort town on the Kaliningrad oblast's coast line. I think I'll be able to get that completed this weekend, so look forward to that!
In the mean time, I am getting in the habit of sharing short, informal thoughts and updates on the various "Twitter-style" feeds, I have all 3 major platforms that I am sharing to, so please follow any platform that you use to get these exclusive posts and updates.

🎅Merry Christmas to all of my subscribers and supporters!🎄
Of course in the Russian-speaking world, Christmas is celebrated on January 7, but here in Ireland it is celebrated today on December 25.
Over the last year or so of content creation, I have learned so much on making videos, editing, but most importantly I learned that there are great people out there who enjoy and support this content. That's what makes these videos worth it above all else.
I want to thank all y'all for every supportive comment you have left, every like you have given to my videos, every time you have shared my videos to new viewers. Without y'all none of this would be possible, so thank you so much.

After uploading that food review today of the Russian Tech-Focused Pizza chain, Dodo Pizza, I was talking to a friend of mine who is also not from Russia.
We were talking about how cool it is that you can just sit inside the pizza place, and casually work on your laptop or hang out with people in most Dodo Pizza restaurants. Like a cafe, but with pizza.
Honestly I have never really seen something like that in another pizza place, have you?
