Hi everyone! A little update: I’m trans and non-binary. My pronouns are they/them. I’m still trying to decide what I want in a name. Until I figure that out, please refer to me by my full government name: Made in the Moment 😎
Getting into crocheting and knitting has been a huge part of exploring and getting in touch with my queer identity, as I’m sure it has been for many of you, so I wanted to say a little something!
When I first came out to myself as queer, crocheting and being able to design my own clothes was a way for me to figure out what I liked wearing and how I wanted to present to the world.
This led to a lot of self reflection and giving myself the space to literally try on a lot of different colors, silhouettes, and looks.
This process of creating my own clothing was a really important piece of me figuring out my gender identity as a trans non-binary person.
It’s been a years long process to get to where I am now. I’m feeling more myself than ever and am enjoying my first pride month fully out in my ideal way: spending time with my queer friends, hanging out with my beautiful partner, and getting back in touch with my creative endeavors ✨
And I guess what I want to say more than anything is thank you to anyone who has supported me in my fiber arts journey. You have all given me a space to play and explore and be the person I’ve always hoped I could be.
