Quincy Jones (March 14, 1933 – November 3, 2024) - Quincy was a man of extraordinary talents. Record producer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer. Became in my eyes the greatest and most successful record producer of the 20th Century. A career spanning 70 years he worked with Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Miles Davis - to be honest name any major musical legend since the 1950's he probably worked with them at some point.
Did an explosive interview 2018 where he claimed Michael Jackson was greedy and stole songs, he knew the real assassin of JFK, the Beatles were "the worst musicians in the world" and Richard Pryor/Marlon Brando had a sexual relationship.
His musical influence will live forever.
Who do you think he made his best music with?

Teri Garr (December 11, 1944 – October 29, 2024) - Very sad regarding the passing of Teri Garr. An incredibly talented, versatile and endearing Oscar nominated actress who starred in many classic movies and TV shows. A career starting in Elvis movies all the way to playing Phoebes mother in Friends. Awful her life was affected in her later years by illness.
A wonderful performer and personality whom I was lucky to discover in Mel Brooks' classic 'Young Frankenstein'. I REALLY need to watch 'Oh, God!'
What was your favourite movie that she starred in?

Jack Jones - January 14, 1938 – October 23, 2024
Sad to hear about Jack Jones passing. A true showbiz legend. His career ranged from 1958–2024. An incredible 66 years of performing. Worked with so many entertainment icons of the 20th Century. Sinatra, Liberace, Sammy Davis Jr, Bob Hope and probably even Tony Danza. One of the last great crooners of his generation.
One of his last interviews on Gilbert Gottfrieds Amazing Colossal Podcast he spoke at length about working Vegas when the Casinos and Clubs were run by the Mob and how he had a gun pulled on him by a gangster for protecting a woman.
On a lighter note listen to him singing the theme to 'Love Boat'.

I'll be posting as often as I can considering my first child was born on 17th October. Currently weaning him onto the voice of Paul Lynde.

Mitzi Gaynor - September 4th 1931 – October 17th 2024.
Main reason I know Mitzi Gaynor is she was number 1 choice to play Sugar in probably my favourite comedy movie 'Some Like it Hot' alongside potentially Danny Kaye and Frank Sinatra.
She also starred in the 1975 tv special 'Mitzi and a 100 Guys'. The content turning out to be not what I initially suspected.

Norm Macdonald (October 17, 1959 – September 14, 2021)
3 years ago Norm died. As a standup and longtime comedy lover Norm was my favourite ever comedian. Mixing a modern style with an old timey delivery. I adored it. I remember hearing he died and I'd never had such a sense of sadness and devastation over a celebrities death as I did with Norm. His social media posts leading upto it made me concerned that he was ill and turned out he was unwell for a long time. God bless this amazing man and for me he was the greatest comedian of all time.

James Earl Jones (January 17, 1931 – September 9, 2024)
What a great legacy of work this man leaves behind. Surely one of the most distinctive voices in acting history. If there are any of his movies you can recommend to that aren't the obvious ones eg Lion King, Coming To America, Sea Wars please comment below and educate me more on his brilliance!

A British comedian with a nerdy and pathological knowledge, fascination and love of Old American Showbusiness. I critically research and review the salacious stories, scandals and personalities of Entertainment past. Forming my own narratives and opinions into incredible stories that are either forgotten, misremembered or replicate events happening today!
