The music of Galya Bisengalieva is deep and atmospheric. The Kazakh composer centres unyielding drones weaving across genres like folk, ambient, classical & electronic music. She made her first two records on her own NOMAD Music Productions, a label founded to champion experimental sounds. In 2020 she released her debut LP āAralkumā on One Little Independent Records, followed on by 'Polygon' album in 2023.
Recently she has performed at the ICA, Haus Der Kunst, National Sawdust, Berliner Festspiele, Le Guess Who, Rewire, Donau & WOS Festivals. Her compositions were featured in Fact, Boiler Room, Pitchfork and Nowness. Galya has also collaborated with the worldās finest musicians spanning many genres including Moor Mother, Pauline Oliveros, Suzanne Ciani, Laurie Spiegel, Jlin & Actress. Her solos & improvisations can be heard on numerous albums, films and tv productions, whilst her first official soundtrack to the film āHold Your Breath: The Ice Diveā was released in July 2022.
