If you're someone who relies on tools like Copilot, Codeium, or similar AI assistants to speed up your coding, I suggest turning them off occasionally to see where you truly stand. Itā€™s important to check if you're genuinely improving in problem-solving or just cruising on autopilot. These tools boost productivity, but they can also create a false sense of progress.

From my experience, while your output may increase, your ability to think critically and tackle complex problems on your own might not develop as much because youā€™re letting these tools do the thinking for you. Constantly using them can train your mind to become better at reading code rather than writing it. If you turn them off, you might notice a lot of awkward pauses when you try to codeā€”moments when your brain expects a suggestion that isnā€™t coming. Even writing something as simple as a for-loop might feel less fluid because youā€™re subconsciously waiting for an autocomplete.

I'm not saying you should ditch these tools altogether; they're great for learning and productivity. But especially if you're still honing your skills, they can make you good at recognizing code instead of creating it from scratch. You might find that you understand code generated for you but struggle to write the same thing independently. Itā€™s like using code you don't fully grasp. So, take the time to really understand what these tools are generating and challenge yourself to write it manually whenever possible.

Hello, all! I'm currently working on a backend project, and it's likely to be an e-commerce project. We're using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB for the backend, and Flutter for the frontend. I'd love to hear your thoughts: Would you prefer a single comprehensive video or a playlist for this project?
