Here's how to Dominate an NPC Permanently in Baldur's Gate 3 using Polymorph and Dominate Beast:
I did not come up with this trick. I was taught it by speedrunners and I'm not sure where they learned it (I wish I did to give credit). It's been around for a very long time though it was never that well known. A lot of people keep asking how it works and I don't know if I explain it well enough in my video as it wasn't really the main goal so I'll explain it here:
Step 1: Be at least level 7 - Have Polymorph ready on any or your characters, and Dominate beast MUST be prepared on a dismissable companion. Not your party leader Tav character.
Step 2: Find a target - Your target must be able to be polymorphed, and dominated are the only requirements. Seems to work on nearly everyone. To make it easy to pull off you should isolate them. For example eliminate their nearby allies so they are the only target. You need to have combat end ASAP to be able to pull this off, and if they are a lone dominated target combat will immediatley drop.
Step 3 Execute it: Polymorph your target. Cast dominate beast on them using a companion. Go to camp as a party, and then I recommend entering turn based mode. You need to reach the companion before the domination and polymorph expire. If either one times out early the trick fails. Dismiss your companion from your party while the sheep and them are standing in camp. Next just wait until the Polymorph and Domination expire off the target. You will notice the polymorphed character disapear afterwards. This is a good thing. After the spells expired you add the companion back into your party. Hit leave camp, and the character should now be attatched permanently as a follower.
Step 4: Assuming you have the target controllable now you can Save the game and Re-load to fix their skillbar being empty and allow them to follow you into future acts.
NOTES: This is clearly not intended so there are some slight annoyances with it mainly you can never remove that companion from your UI afterwards. Even in death they will be stuck to your character as a follower. You can not reverse this process either. Be careful you don't dominate someone and risk breaking the game. Mizora nearly broke mine as she randomly disapeared and would crash the game if I talked to her in certain areas. If you're using this in honor mode be very careful. I am not responsible for your bricked games! Otherwise enjoy. It's pretty fun to control them without mods! Traders are fun targets as you can give them scrolls to use and pickpocket them for infinite gold whenever you feel like it. Long resting restores all spell slots etc for the followers + heals them to full. You cannot revive a lost ally.
Have fun!

If you love incredibly rare Dialogues/Situations in BG3 then I can't recommend this video enough! SlimX shared some crazy things in this video. 35 minutes of stuff even someone like me with 2000 hours played hasn't seen. Go check it out! (The last 2 really were cool to me) watch video on watch page

Want to get Balduran's Giantslayer without fighting Ansur? Here's how:
Step 1: Bring a Kobold in a Barrel (from the Act 1 Monestary), or the Iron Flask into the room you fight Ansur.
Step 2: Throw the Flask/Kobold to start combat with a weak enemy.
Step 3: Mid Combat you can loot the Legendary Weapon then flee the area. Because you're in combat the cutscene doesn't trigger, but because Ansur is already dead by default he's lootable.
Huge Shoutout to @actualchangeling8365 for this trick. They had mentioned it was possible with the "Abyss Beckoner" gloves and a summoned creature to start combat as well.

Doing my last live stream for a while tomorrow morning, starting at 10:30 AM PST. I'll be away from my streaming PC for an extended period, but still plan to create content on my laptop like I did all of last year (I don't look forward to editing on that thing again). I'll be going through Act 2 playing with the Patch 8 subclasses.
I'd like to start streaming again in April, and focus on doing challenge-runs live later on. That way people can see the process I go through lol. Until then don't miss out on your chance to ask me weird invasive questions.

Youtube now suggests video ideas for people generated by AI. It says that interest in this video is "Very High" among my viewers. Somehow I doubt that hahaha
I love how it generates titles, and thumbnail ideas too. "Impossible Challenge". In what way would a 1-handed playthrough of bg3 be impossible

Thanks to all who joined the stream with me today. Another blast! I think I'll do another one next Saturday, but was debating between 2 topics. I'll put up a poll and see what people want more.
Idea 1: Play the Early Access version of Baldur's Gate 3 and showcase a bunch of cut content. There's way more than I could possibly fit into a video, and that could easily fill up a 6-8 hour stream showing it. Purely focusing on what didn't make it into the game during that.
Idea 2: Continue playing BG3's Patch 8 new subclasses, and go into act 2 with them. Basically continue off from the stream I did today.

Trying out this new “community tab” feature and showing off the photo mode. I wondered why it was taking so long to make. This thing is way beyond my expectations!

Thinking of doing a longer stream this Saturday (And maybe a few more for February). I had fun with the last one, and would love to be able to interact with the community more frequently. Most likely a chill playthrough of Act 1 in the Patch 8 Stress Test. I'll setup my usual mic so it'll hopefully be a bit better quality than the last stream. Hope to see you guys there! Most likely starting around 11AM PST, but nothing is set in stone.

The Patch 8 Stress Test is live, and I got invited to one of these for the first time :)
I'm gonna try and setup a live stream for a couple hours from now to celebrate.
If anyone has things they want to see let me know. Gonna be messing around with the new sub-classes in Act 1 most likely and would love to have a chance to interact with you guys in chat. 2025 a goal of mine is to get into streaming regularity (probably after April). The first person to write a class will pick which of the new sub-classes I'm trying first. Expect it to be scuffed as I haven't tried live streaming in almost 6 years.

Karlach 4th Wall Update:
With patch 7 the bounty on this cutscene officially closed. After over 400k views on the video, about a dozen AI news articles about it, and 11 emails to me claiming to have found the method.... The Bounty went unclaimed. I'll start by saying I expected this to be claimed within a week of posting, because the fastest way to find the correct answer on the internet is to say something is impossible. People then usually rush to correct your incorrect statement... Since that didn't happen here's a bit of a recap on how it went:
Around 11 People Emailed to me a method -> where I went in game to test it, and found it didn't work. Attempts to follow up with them would lead to no response or people admitting they didn't test their own method... Which got rather frustrating to be honest.
Some smart people really did try and wrote very detailed explanations of why it's not possible to activate the cutscene which were cool to see.
A couple guys even went back throughout the earlier patches to see if it showed up in those game files as well and told me that since release it has been flagged as "impossible". The only thing I can think of is that there was a bug in an earlier build which allowed it to still trigger, but even that I cannot confirm.... It remains a mystery, but I will say from at least patch 6 and forward has seemingly been removed from the game.
The AI news articles were very funny though.... Some even spelled my name wrong, or made up fake reward values. "Proxy Gate Technician" is not my name, nor is "PCT". Video game journalism sure is something these days. Perhaps the Karlach cutscene will forever be an unknown.

The Greatest Tactician That's Ever Lived
I make content for Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity Original Sin 2, and maybe other things one day too. Whatever Larian makes next will be on that list. Join the Larian Studios waiting room and watch me play games in strange ways, find hidden secrets, and occasionally do random other top 10 list stuff too.
