Honestly, I do not think about tension and relaxation much when playing the guitar. I remember years ago I played with a lot of tension in my hands and back. However, today, like I said, I rarely ever think about it. So, in this entry, I would like to talk about Tension and Relaxation. Before I entered the world of Classical Guitar, I was a steel string strummer of cowboy precision. As an advanced musician (cough, cough), I could play three or four chords together and even ā€œbarredā€ chords, somewhat, with the best of them. However, I was bored with strumming. I couldnā€™t and still canā€™t sing. And I wanted to go further and learn to be a better player. The solution was... fingerpicking. We had to de-scale our Keurig coffee machine. The thing had a light that blinked and was driving me crazy. The "Add Water" light blinks and drives me crazy as well. Apparently, I have an issue with lights that blink. However, after cleaning the machine and running 24 cups of hot water through it, that blinking light is now off!
