Hi all! Life towards the end of this Bahamian season has turned out to be much busier than we expected. I (Andy) thought that we could get a video out today after missing our normal Saturday slot. We do all of our editing and mixing ourselves, and I simply ran out of time. We will see y'all next week!

Sorry,

Andy & Kirstin

Hey all! Between travel back to the States, having guests on board, and trying to find suitable weather windows to jump between islands, we've been very busy lately and it's all compounded a bit.

So, our video this week might be a bit late. Hopefully it goes live late Saturday or early Sunday!

See you all then!

Merry (late) Christmas and happy holidays. We took this last week off to spend time with family and hang out at home. We promise to be back this coming Saturday! Hopefully, you are also getting to spend some time with family and friends.

Much love,

Kirstin & Andy

Hi all!

No video this week. We've been super busy traveling from North Carolina to Missouri and then California to run the California International Marathon and then recovery in the beautiful mountains and see the Redwoods. We can't wait to share this adventure with you next week!

Much love,

Andy & Kirstin

Hi all!

If you've come looking for our new video this morning, we already posted it on Thursday! We are going to experiment with a new drop day for a little bit. Please bear with us.

Oh, and go watch our newest video from the Annapolis Boat Show!

Hi all!

I want to make it clear that this is a reupload. We are not trying to pull a fast one on everybody.

I (Andy) accidentally deleted the original this morning while working on the channel. So, I had to reupload the video. Aside from our own frustration (the original video was our best-performing video to date), I understand that this can cause confusion for our amazing subscribers because it looks like we dropped a new video - when really we have not.

Sorry for the confusion. Our next new video will drop as usual on Saturday morning.

Much love,

Andy & Kirstin

Hey all,

A quick update on our boat, Magic Dragon. The eye of Ian went right over our boatyard, and many of the boats took catastrophic damage (cracked hulls, broken rigs, etc).

The initial reports from people in the yard are that, while Magic Dragon fell off her stands, damage appears to be minimal. The rig is standing and intact. There are not any immediately apparent cracks or punctures in the hull. There are currently no cracks where the keel and skeg meet the hull.

Of course, there are cosmetic issues such as paint scrapped and the running rigging is reportedly shredded.

A friend of ours who owns another boat in the yard will be there in the next day or two and has volunteered to go inside our boat and to check for any visible damage to the bulkheads and to clear out any standing water there may be.

All told, we are optimistic that any damage and subsequent repairs to Magic Dragon will be relatively minimal and mostly cosmetic. For that we are very grateful.

Many people lost everything in Hurricane Ian. Please pray for those people. In the grand scheme of things damage to our boat is but a small concern in the wake of the storm.

Much Love,
Andy & Kirstin

Hey all,

First and foremost, we hope that everyone in the path of Hurricane Ian was able to stay safe. Life is much more important than property.

Ian has already left and will continue to leave destruction in its path. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to everyone who has been and will be impacted by this storm. Please take care of each other out there.

We are safe in Chicago.

Around 3:30 pm EST on September 28, the eye of Hurricane Ian was directly over the community that hosts our boatyard, and by extension our boat. In the grand scheme of things, a damaged (or even totally destroyed) boat is a small concern. But, it is still a concern.

Due to the loss of power and cell coverage in the community where our boat is located, we likely won't find out what has happened to it for quite some time. Hopefully, the boat survives and we can push forward with the refit (and a series of videos related to the refit).

Much love,

Andy & Kirstin
