Overall I think it's the best mid-tier handheld Anbernic has ever made, it's a "greatest hits" compilation of all the other devices they've released over the years. Good controls, good screen, nice ergonomics, and solid performance for the price. It's easy to recommend unless you already have a similar handheld, or if you'd rather wait for their inevitable next release, which might be even better than this one.

Surprising no one, Anbernic has announced a new handheld. The RG406H has a 4" (4:3) 720p LCD and their new analog sticks -- so basically a horizontal version of their RG406V, and it kinda looks like a slightly wider RG Cube. It will have the same T820 CPU that is found in the RG Cube, RG406V, and RG556 (enough power for most PS2/GC). No idea on release date and pricing, but it is probably coming in the next few weeks and likely ~$180 retail.
Here's hoping this is the last Anbernic release of the year, I believe this will be their TWELFTH handheld release over the past year.
