That person you've been dating for the past 10 years, imagine if you had married them after 3; by now, you would have had a 7 years marriage.
The purpose of dating/courting is to determine if that person you are attracted to has other characteristics that are important to you for a life partner. Do not treat it like an endless array of talking, seggsing, fighting, etc.
Look at it this way. You've found your girlfriend/boyfriend tolerable enough to date for about 3 years. By this time, the average couple has had significant highs and lows; and has done basically everything married couples do. In this case, what's the hold up?
