When humans burn fossil fuels, such as coal or oil, to make things (like plastic products or energy), it releases gases into the atmosphere (greenhouse gases).
Greenhouse gases act like a blanket, covering our atmosphere and trapping heat from the sun, making temperatures rise. This is called global warming.
There are many changes in the climate (hence "climate change") with global warming. Sea levels rise. Extreme weather events. Lack of food.
The scary thing is, this is happening NOW. We need to act to save wildlife as many species go extinct and humans keep burning fossil fuels.
I believe that the more informed we are on this topic, the better we understand it, and the better we can help. I'm trying to spread awareness of the effects of global warming and provide solutions that you may be able to do to help nature. Because there isn't a Planet B.
As Greta Thunberg said, "I want you to act like your house is on fire, because it is."
