Unfortunately my channel has lost its monetisation status due to "reusing content". I cannot think of any videos I had monetised that were not original content. This is an unwelcome blow in the middle of an economic crisis where the 100€/month from the channel were a welcome plus (and one I was hoping would help me in what is going to be a tough end of the decade financially). I will try and appeal but unfortunately I must put on hold the return to serious content I was planning (the... dungposts, since I suppose I should censor myself, were just experimenting with stuff).
EDIT: Of all the things, it would appear to be 2 short gaming videos without commentary.

Going forward...
So, a lot of you might have noticed I haven't uploaded in a long while. This is partly due to not having much time with my academic work, but also quite frankly because I ran out of things to do and was increasingly disappointed in the quality of what I was outputting. I have genuinely no idea what to do with the channel now (and the account which remains my default one for daily YouTube perusing - you can hunt for my comments like Justin Y if you really want to). I decided I might as well ask the fans (or, as there might well be more of, haters). I see a few options:
1 - Leave the channel's content up but stop uploading, like some sort of Unus Annus museum.
2 - Rebrand the channel as my real-life persona (doxx myself) but remove the content (come on, at least the cringe stuff - I don't want people to know me IRL and associate me with a terrible cover of Billie Eilish). Then, new content (the same as below).
3 - Create an entirely new channel as my real-life persona, either anonymously or using my 'following' here to help jumpstart that (how many medievalists have 100 sub channels... which is fine, I'm not a clout-chaser, but the effort that goes into making videos has to pay off somehow - and it usually doesn't on an emotional or personal level, frankly, especially with this kind of channel and the negativity surrounding this one). The new content would include videos on certain aspects of questions of medieval history, the kind you might watch while having a 10-15 minute lunch break, as well as more fun stuff, interviews with other historians, and episodes where I cook medieval recipes but give academic details like the symbolism of the colours or a story from a fable concerning that dish (like a more rigorously academic version of that one guy with the historical cooking channel - nothing against him, but I don't think he's a professional historian and his content is geared towards being accessible much more than informative or academic, I feel).

Some of my content is being reused on TikTok by @historyfordummies - without much credit (a discreet link in the comments with 14 likes on an 800K video - whilst telling others in the comments he made it anyway, so frankly below the bare minimum of decency). I would appreciate any assistance in dealing with this - it doesn't seem fair, especially on videos where all of the IP is mine (can't do much about the Evolution of Music as it uses copyrighted music and so I never monetised it, although arguably even that is theft as it's not been modified).
PS: I'm also uninstalling TikTok for the time being (created an account to contact them) given it's just a front to steal users' data.
