I was silent for so long, it became suffocating.
Now, I'm done.
I'm proud to honor #BlackoutTuesday by speaking up and using my voice. America is a country with systemic racism, and I'm done accepting it, tolerating it, and especially being silent about it.
This marks the (long overdue) beginning of my journey for social justice and the attempt at racial equality. Far too many innocent lives of color have been taken, beaten, and treated as if we don't matter... despite the protests, petitions, and pleas.
We do matter. Black lives do matter. This moment in time is an opportunity for us all to get involved, speak up, and start affecting the change this world desperately needs today.
