just wanted to give a shout out to an archive channel which is currently at work reuploading all of reviewtechusas content. if you dont know rich had a weird ass meltdown over the past few weeks and this resulted in him deleting his channel with over 15 years worth of content. he still does make stuff but under his rtusteams account but its mostly just live streams.
so yeah go give this guy a sub and some love because the amount of videos rich had on his channel is crazy and the amount of storage needed to back that up cant be small [in fact a dude on reddit made a torrent for it and the archive in size is 3tbs fucking crazy]

one of the many struggles of being a data hoarder is finding the space to stash all the stuff you download.
and since running this channel the amount of stuff iv downloaded has increased by so much that i keep running out of places to store it on my drives.
the biggest reason for the increase in file size is due to having better tools at my disposal before i was just using crappy download sites that almost gave me viruses.
but now that i have a computer strong enough to handle bulk download programs i can sweep entire channels with in hours and grab it all at its best quality.
but because i am grabbing stuff at the highest quality nowadays this takes up a lot of space.
now you might be saying well cant you just download at a lower resolution of course i can but i honestly dont wanna be doing that since it might be the case i am the only one that gave enough of a shit to save a stream or some obscure channel or video.
and if thats the case i dont want potentially the only copy out there that gets archived to be shitty.
looking back at some of those johhny reaction videos the resolution sucks so fucking much and it hurts to look at like i could have down it so much better but nope now the only copys that exist are these shitty screen recorded versions.
idk man its not a huge deal but still i just wanted to rant about this since as of the time making this post i am out of space to store shit. ill be buying another drive tomorrow so this will get resolved but let this be a warning of you do decide to take up archiving as a hobby it can become costly due to this storage issue.

updated the whachow playlist to include the most recent uploads but also added a new playlist.
this play will focus around asmr stuff and dont worry i wont be going as super crazy as asmr historian but i wanted to continue his work as he has now retired.
so go and give the guy some thanks for being one of the most hard working archive channels out there without him so many asmr channels content would be lost and he will be sadly missed.

but as i said in my last post i did seriously consider using the chub hub name suggested by @SaiScribbles i even whipped up a channel banner for it and yeah its of what you think it is.

hello everyone today is the launch of the new channel name!
welcome to the chubby archive! not gonna lie it was a really tough call between this and the chub hub @SaiScribbles thanks for that suggestion [tho i might still use it for something else] any ways the decision came down to wanting to make this channels purpose as clear as possible as to this day i still get comments giving me direct credit for some of these videos [even tho the damn titles say reupload but whatever] and yes while chub hub would have been the funnier and the way more creative option it did not make it clear as to what the channels goal was and i feel the name now does that.

sometime next month i plan to expand my operation to other sites as mirror backups. i also want to able to keep a clear line of communication open for everyone for updates on the channel so because of this i might open up a twitter or facebook page for updates dont know yet might be some other site this is still be debated in my head.

hey everyone it has come to my attention that purpleeyeswtf a well known abridger has deleted his channel.
it was not due to copyright strike but due to according to him having a fever dream due to covid.
now this could be the real reason or it could be bullshit. if you know purpleeyes ya know its a coin flip if its true or not. but any case this means that all his years of content has been deleted.
thankfully someone has already started uploading everything that has deleted and it can be found here youtube.com/@PurpsArchive because it is already uploaded here i will personally not be reuploading any of the stuff however if the channel should get taken down i have started the process of making my own backup of the channel.

so i mentioned a while ago that iv been thinking about changing my name to better reflect the goal of this channel and the stuff that is being uploaded here. when i picked chubby checker back in the day it was just a random name i thought of at the time never thought id be using it for what i do now it was just some random account.
but now that this channel has gained some traction in the online archive scene iv thought about renaming it for a while. so i wanted to ask your guys input on what should be the channels name going forward. iv made a poll for a few names iv been kicking around and wanted your feed back on which one you believe is the best option for the renaming of this channel. now the change in the channels name even after this poll will not take effect until at least september and even with this polls result i might end up going with something different. like i said this is just to gage what you all might think would be a good name for the channel and of course i am open to suggestions down in the comments.

so sad update about frauded.
a few days ago he made a video on his 2nd channel announcing that unfortunately he failed at getting back his youtube channel. its sad but being that it had been two months since the last update it was already not looking good and he confirmed that being the case. as a result he said that he would not be restarting on another channel or another site he is just done making content for youtube or in general. this is very sad and i still wanna hold out hope that he will come back but if not i just wanted to make this post to say thank you frauded you were one of the best greentext readers out there and now that your gone there is a hole that cant be filled. i do hope if you are reading this that you know you brought a lot of joy to people and i hope that you will reconsider your choice but if not thank you for the videos and take care.
now as for his content that i have not reuploaded here i will not be posting any more of his stuff at least for the time being as there is already another channel that has direct contact with him that has uploaded almost everything he has made youtube.com/@Fraudedreupload/featured if you wanna see everything from frauded its on this channel. so yeah since its already all uploaded on here there is no reason for me to continue with my reuploads at least at the moment if that channel some how gets unfairly striked down as well because youtube fucking sucks then i will start uploading his stuff again but lets hope it dont come to that.
