It’s not stopping drugs that’s hard..🍃💨🥃🚬

Stopping drug use is often not the hard part of sobriety.

It’s the anticipation of stopping that trips people up!

For example, have you ever had an upcoming situation or event that created you lots of stress and anxiety?

Then, by the time you found yourself in the event or situation it was not actually that bad.

Once you’re in it, you’re in it!

For many people it is the F.E.A.R (false expectations appearing real) of change, versus making the change that prevents them from ever getting started.

If you have been battling yourself on whether or not to quit drinking, smoking, vaping, yada yada you might be keeping yourself stuck in the hard part!

By the time you set out to stop, you may find you have no energy left to see stopping drugs through!

Let’s skip the hard part 😎

We still have open seating for our Sober October 2024 KickIt gum giveaway and program.

(But…. it’s filling up fast)

All you must do to partake is join the AddictionMindset Skool group coaching community.

You can still do that here:

You “relapsed”…..ok, keep reading. 🍃💨🥃🚬

Why is it that people associate a “relapse” with failure?

Why is it that many people than associate “failure” with shame and guilt?

What happens when we make these associations?

More drug consumption…

Why, because how does a person (not an addict, you are a living human, not a label) struggling with substance use “cope” with failure, shame, and guilt?

With what they know how to do best… consume more of the drug.

Failure is nothing to be ashamed of, and high performance people know this!!

A LEARNING EXPERIENCE is nothing to be ashamed of.

Failure is only associated with shame because you associate it as such.

Stop doing that (lol)

I have failed at 1000 things 1001 times and will fail again, and again, and again.

You can’t fail at something if you’re not trying to succeed at that something.

There is no “failure” in the process of trying to better oneself.

There is only progress, and failure is part of that progress.

There should be no shame or guilt associated with trying to level up.

Leveling up is just that, it has levels, some highs, some lows.

There’s levels to this shi* 😎

Props on continuing to try, because you could have gave up.

💪💪

This is a discussion happening RIGHT NOW inside the AddictionMindset group coaching Skool Community, with 31 amazing other people all looking to level up in life!

Would love for you to join us celebrating your wins and “failures” along the way.

The wrong way to quit 💨🍃🥃💊🚬…….

When you set out to quit a substance, one of the worst mindsets to approach quitting from is a place of deprivation.

If you view quitting as giving something up, it will make stopping a very challenging and painful experience.

How do you prevent this?

By flipping the script.

Try this instead. 👇👇

Ask yourself, what is cannabis/nicotine/weed depriving me of?

Is my physical health?
Is my mental health?
Is it my finances?
Is it my faith?
Is it my relationships?

What are you putting on hold in your life to maintain this addiction?

We could even go a step further and ask “ once I have a better income, health, relationships, what other opportunities would open up for me?”

🤔 Addiction is an active state of deprivation when you think about it.

The deprivation that addiction creates is endless.

Once you see it for what it is, it becomes obvious.

After asking yourself these questions it’s time to get excited about all the stuff in life you stand to gain back!

This is how we switch from a mindset of deprivation to motivation.

Coping without cannabis 🍃💨

This was a great discussion we recently had inside the AddictionMindset group coaching Skool community.

You can join in on the next live session here: 👇👇
stan.store/AddictionMindset

1) If you want to quit cannabis you need to start by devaluing the benefits of cannabis.

Don’t give it the benefit as a “coping” tool.

The definition of coping is “to deal with and overcome problems.”

Cannabis will not provide you with this solution.

If it did you would not be reading this post.

2)Ask yourself what issues are you coping with?

Are any of these issues related to your cannabis use?

Money problems, relationship problems, health problems, other?

Is cannabis the cause of some of the problems you were hoping smoking more would resolve?

🤔🤔

After I quit, it turned out I had less issues to cope with.

Seems obvious, but in active addiction the obvious is not always such.

3) What do you do to cope post quitting cannabis?
- Exercise
- Breathing
- Faith practice
- Work
- Talking
- Journaling
- Cold showers
- Supplements
- Movement
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Organizing

Drop some comments and let others struggling know how you deal with life!

PS: Our next live AddictionMindset Skool group coaching community session is going to be focused on the development of solution oriented coping skills.

I hope to see you there!

✅ For those that join before 10/1/24 you will get a free bottle of KickIt Crave Less gum and the deep breathing necklace.

✅ You will also have access to our sober October challenge.

The stages of quitting smoking 🍃
Which one are you?

Vote below

✅Pre contemplation

No intention of quitting. You feel the benefits of smoking outweigh the harms. Quitting is not even a thought or seems impossible.

✅ Contemplation

Thinking about quitting. You see the harms and are weighing the pros and cons of quitting smoking.

✅ Preparation

You are planing on quitting, and set a date to do so. You still smoke but may have cut down and are ready to begin your quit.

✅ Action

You actually quit.

✅ Maintenance stage

You are avoiding relapse and not smoking but still experience cravings.

✅ Termination

You are non smoker and don’t have any urge to return.

If you are just starting your quit be sure to check out the AddictionMindset programs and products with the link below.

Quitting smoking weed is "hard."

Quitting vaping is "hard."

Quitting drinking is "hard."

Quitting gambling is "hard."

I used to say things like to myself all the time.

But what makes something difficult verses easy?

It comes down to ones perspective of the situation.

What are you comparing quitting drugs to?

I have done a few things in my life, that looking back were quite "hard."

Dealing with health crisis.

Going through my parents divorce.

Building 3 businesses from the ground up.

BUT..

I have never been homeless.

I have never been so broke I could not eat.

I have never been hated by my family.

I have never fought cancer.

I have never experienced the loss of a limb or major body organ.

I have never been to war.

I have never been to prison.

I have never been a lot of things, and for that I am grateful.

Is quitting vaping hard, sure.

Was battling CHS with psychosis a really crappy experience, sure.

But was making a decision to better my quality of life really that "hard?"

In retrospect that is debatable.

It depends on your threshold of what qualifies as "hard."

If you find quitting smoking or drinking "hard," maybe it's time for a new perspective.

You are capable of getting through challenging times, you have done it before, and you’re still standing here today!

Quitting does not have to be “hard.”
