Dear travelers and adventurers!
Today I would like tell you about one of my favorite hiking trails. This IS A HIKE TO THE TRIFT SUSPENSION BRIDGE OVERLOOKING THE GLACIER 🏔️
This is such an amazing route that you will not regret a single minute spent there, and the aftertaste will stay with you for a very long time.
The Trift Bridge is one of the most impressive suspension pedestrian bridges in the Alps. It has a height of 100 m, a length of 170 m with a spectacular view of Trift glacier. Even a trip to the bridge by cable car through the gorge is already an incredible adventure 😊
The bridge is considered one of the most picturesque in Switzerland. It offers a stunning view of the glacier, which is unfortunately melting… 😢
The route is not particularly very difficult, but it requires physical training, good mountain shoes and your good mood. You'll have to work a little harder 💪
If you love dogs, this is a great hiking trip to be together 🐕🦺💕
Here are my main recommendations:
• Choose this hike in good weather. A very good application for tracking the weather in Switzerland 🇨🇭 is MeteoSwiss
• If you decide to take the cable car to start higher, then I strongly recommend buying tickets in advance on the website. This way you will save yourself 2-3 hours of waiting. Also, there may simply be no tickets for your day
• Buy a return ticket at the latest time that is available, because I am sure that you will want to stay there longer :)
• There are parking spaces near the lower station of the funicular, but there are not many of them. In very good weather, you will have to look for a place
• Be sure to wear hiking boots. Sneakers will not work on this route! Trekking poles will not be superfluous
• Take a power bank with you, because your hand will be constantly reaching for the phone to take photos or videos ☺️ At each turn, new and new views will open up, each different from the previous one and one more beautiful than the other…
• Take something you like to eat with you. Believe me, a snack with a view of the glacier is worth it! There is a restaurant at the upper station of the funicular during the season, but it was closed in the morning. Therefore, you can take something with you or buy it on the way in Meiningen or Interkirchen
