Changed up my layout in my Plotter Narrow this week.
Didnāt have time to prep my daily insert, so I skipped stamping the date and just went straight into planning. No frillsājust function. This time, I tried a more bullet journal-style layout, and while itās definitely messier, itās also packed with better insight into how my day actually went. Not as structured as my previous one-page-per-day setup, but it captured more of what mattered.
Youāll notice the difference in my older pagesāthey had more white space and looked neater. But this new layout?
It reflects real life. Busy. Full. A bit chaoticābut meaningful. Thatās the thing about functional planningāit doesnāt have to be pretty to be powerful. It just has to work for you.
š¬ Do you prefer clean, structured layouts or messy-but-meaningful ones?

I used to think I was a digital girlie.
Google Calendar, Notion, Trelloāyou name it, I tried it. š
But somehow, Iād still forget to reply to that email, miss that one bill payment, and worst of all⦠completely blank on my kidās school activity day (the mom guilt is real.)
So this year, I stopped fighting it and went full Franken Planner modeāHP Classic size, all paper, all power.
Turns out, my brain just works better when I can flip through tabs, check things off, and see everything in one place. #TeamPaperForLife
I updated my entire setup because I realized my old one just wasnāt cutting it anymore. I needed more space to think, plan, and not panic every other Tuesday.
š” So I added:
⢠A project section (because āmental tabsā donāt work anymore)
⢠A goal map (so I stop forgetting why Iām doing all this)
⢠A trigger list (for those random 3am thoughts)
⢠And a few more tabs that actually make sense for how I plan life, biz, and everything in between.
š„ I did a full walk-through of my updated setup in this new video.
If youāre thinking of refreshing your own system or youāre just nosy like me (no judgment), come take a peek. You might get an idea or two!

Iāve been away from posting for a while, and I want to share why. The last two months have been incredibly tough for my family and me. In December, I lost my father. We were grieving, arranging the funeral, and making sure my mom was okay as she adjusted to life without him. Just as we were beginning to find our footing, another tragedy struckāmy sister lost her husband, my brother-in-law, just a month later. He was only 42. Losing two of the most important men in our family so close together has been devastating.
Grief has a way of making you pause. It left me lost, blank, unable to think about work or anything else. It made me realize how fragile life truly is. My father had been sick for some time, and in a way, I find peace knowing he is no longer in pain. But my brother-in-lawās passing felt too soon, too sudden. It brought a flood of scary thoughtsāreminding me that nothing in life is guaranteed.
In all of this, I turned to faith, seeking comfort and guidance. Looking back, Iām grateful that last year my husband and I had booked a trip to Japan for this February, and that time away, just the two of us, was exactly what I needed to process my thoughts and slowly lift the weight I had been carrying.
If thereās one thing I want to share with you, itās this: Donāt wait to appreciate the people in your life. Tell them you love them. Spend time with them. Cherish every little moment, because life can change in an instant.
Iām slowly getting back into my rhythm now, taking things one step at a time. And even though itās a little late, I still want to wish you all a Happy New Year. May this year bring you love, peace, and the reminder to hold your loved ones close. š

Important Update: A Pause for Self-Care
Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that my Day 5 video on quarterly planning, which was scheduled to be uploaded tomorrow, will be postponed. After uploading four videos this week while juggling family responsibilities, my daughterās exams, and managing my business, Iāve realized it was more than I could handle.
Pushing myself too hard has taken a tollāmy headaches have returned, and Iāve been feeling overwhelmed. While I initially considered powering through and continuing with editing and uploads, I had to remind myself of an important lesson: our well-being always comes first.
I always encourage planning and preparation, but as this experience has shown me, even the best plans reveal their challenges during execution. When things become overwhelming, itās okay to pause, reassess, and take a step back. This is the example I want to share with you all: itās not about doing it allāitās about taking care of yourself so you can continue doing what matters in the long run.
For the next week, Iāll be focusing on my family and clearing my mind. This time will help me recharge and return in better shape to create content for you. My next video will be uploaded starting 22 December. I sincerely apologize for the delay, and I truly appreciate your understanding and support.
To anyone feeling the weight of overwhelm, remember this: your health and well-being are priorities, not options. If you need to pause, do itātaking care of yourself is never a failure; itās a strength.
Thank you for your patience and kindness. Iāll see you soon, rested and ready to bring you more content to help with your planning and productivity journey. ā¤ļø
Take care,
Vin

I enjoyed making this planner tab for my plotter planner. The plotter planner has a very small ring planner which is 11mm in size. So, this means, I can't add the regular thick tab in it. So, I decided to create a thin dasboard by printing it on a thin transparent type of paper. As for the tab, I just used my sticky tabs from Cloth & Paper. It looks so great and I'm happy how it turned out.

The worst planning method is not planning at all. I used to get so frustrated with my cluttered mind, feeling like all my ideas were swimming around aimlessly in my brain. When I tried putting them on paper, it looked like a bunch of squiggly worms š
š¤£.
That messy planner was from several years ago when I was desperately trying to find a proper planning system. Now, I'm happy to say I've found my structure š. It's not about the planner itself, but the system that makes the difference.

Back to writing in my morning pages. I realized that I enjoy writing morning pages when I filled up new ink in my fountain pen š¤£š¤£
My fellow fountain pen users, do you feel the same š?

Do you prefer functional planning or planning that inspires creativity (stickers, decoration and etc)

I found the world of planning with stickers in the year 2014. 10 years later, i have stickers, pens, planners, books, sticky notes, washi tapes and etc that i have collected over the years.
Having these stacks also means that Iām the official person to prepare anything that involves gift because I wrap and also make the cover card for the gift šš
Iām sure my fellow planners do the same as well ššš. Do you agree?
