Live video of Buskers (street musicians), entertainers, artists, and the occasional beggar on the sweet streets of Portland, Oregon. Most videos are shot in SE Portland on and around Hawthorne Blvd (Asylum Avenue), at downtown Saturday Market, at People's Co-Op Wednesday Farmers' Market, and at the monthly street spectacle called "Last Thursday" which manifests on NE Alberta the last Thursday of every summer month and should be experienced in the flesh at least once by everyone. Imagine a mile-long circus where everyone is high on oxytocin. (google it) Not to be missed.
I hope you enjoy the gaggle of street spankers I have collected, primarily from video I have shot personally.
Please remember to tip your busker and buy their CDs. They are bravely preserving one of the last remaining vestiges of courageous individualism and entrepreneurial spirit which is threatened now more than ever as we founder culturally, awash in the manufactured dreams of the media masters who manipulate our emotions, en mass, for the gain of talentless hacks while our true poets languish in the streets for want of a dollar.
Which is more important, a cup of coffee, or a cultural tradition?
Please tip your busker. Mkay?
Thanks.
