6,000 subscribers for the Gaming Exhibit!

So let me first say thank you to everyone who has pressed or clicked that subscribe button. As this is still a small youtube channel each of your likes, comments and subscribes does go far in extending the reach that the channel has in bringing these longplays to people. It has been 7 months since the last milestone on boxing day last year and it shows that the channel is slowly growing

The Gaming Exhibit is still recording plenty of longplays for games that still does not have much coverage and over the last year I do believe the quality of the videos that the channel records have improved to the point where they are a good reference point for anyone trying to remember that old game they used to play or for anyone who has a general interest in computer / video games.

Again, thank you for supporting the channel. Hopefully it won't be long til the next milestone
Best regards,
Gremolin at the Gaming Exhibit

End of May 2024 Update.
In total there were 26 commercial games completed last month.

Summer is here (for the northern hemisphere), which is usually not a good time to be playing games in the heat. I do prefer winter.

For the games, I've enjoyed replaying Metal Gear Solid 1on the switch, it made me remember what an excellent series it is. Hopefully I can continue playing the collection.
On other systems I mostly most played on the ZX Spectrum and the Commodore 64.

For the channel it has been a struggle to maintain a pace of one video a day and there is a chance I may end up reducing the schedule in either June or July. My time has been divided and I have less of it to play and record longplays.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great June!

End of April 2024 Update.
In total there were 24 commercial games completed last month.

Its May already, 2024 is zooming by very quickly.
But luckily I managed to complete quite a high number of commercial games including 7 Switch games.

The 100th PS1 game was uploaded in April which is a milestone. Currently I'm playing through the first Armored Core on PS1 game which will take a while but it is a game I'm definitely enjoying. Another milestone for the channel was the 1st Fan Translated game being uploaded - Arle's Adventure: Magical Jewels - which is cross between a classic Final Fantasy RPG but with Pokémon like elements (in that you can evolve and change the moves of the found puyos).

For the channel I have decided to revert back to the 7 videos a week release schedule (1 a day). Simply because I was struggling to keep up with completing that many games.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems. I'll be releasing new videos every day, and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great May!

End of March 2024 Update.
In total there were 21 commercial games completed in March.

Happy Easter and April fools to everyone.

In March I continued to enjoy playing the Game Boy Color games and they ended up being my most played system last month. However, I am currently playing a lengthy RPG so expect these games to slow down in the short term going forward.

The same can be said for the PS1. I'm about half way through a click and point adventure game called the Ark of Time which is a very unique game to say the least. As you can see by the graphic the next PS1 will be the 100th PlayStation 1 game that has been completed and uploaded onto the channel.
I am also close to the 100th Nintendo Switch game as well but still completing games for the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 at a decent rate as well.

March did see an increase of subscribers after last month. I do think the Easter holiday helps and there was a small increase just over the last few days.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems. I'll be releasing new videos every day, and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great April!

End of February 2024 Update.

The picture below contains the systems with the most uploads for February 2024.
In total there were 24 commercial games completed in February.

*Games Update*
For February I did continue playing Game Boy Color games and I should be able to finish and upload some more in March as well. A few games from systems I don't usual play were uploaded last month too which hopefully becomes a trend. I have tried to play more commercial releases and I think that is reflected in the Commodore 64 numbers.

*Channel Update*
February has seen a big slowdown in growth, however this was expected after a decent holiday period for the channel. Its still above February from 2023 so its not too bad. Unfortunately this could be the theme through spring and summer if it replicates 2023. Hopefully, somehow, the channel will get some kind of good exposure.

*Going Forward*
I have been experimenting with a few different systems recently to see which ones I want to introduce to the channel on a more regular basis. Today I uploaded a GameCube game and it would be amazing if I could play them more regularly. I want to keep playing the Game Boy Color games for longer too as I am enjoying them so far.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems. I'll be releasing new videos every day, and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great March!

End of January 2024 Update.

The picture below contains the systems with the most uploads for January 2023.
In total there were 23 commercial games completed in January.

*Games Update*
Firstly the very small Tangerine Microtan 65 library is completed and uploaded which is the first library this channel has completed. At the start of the month I uploaded the completed Animorphs game for the Game Boy Color and that started the ball rolling with me playing through some of the GBC games, so expect more of them for February.

*Channel Update*
January usually sees a slowdown of views after the holiday season and 2024 did see the usual dip. Having said that it looks like subscribers to the channel managed to stay at the same level.

*Going Forward*
I have not really thought of any big plans for the channel this year so far. I have been trying to include more commercial games on the daily uploads and I have been working of a spreadsheet that contains a list of games that this channel has completed or has in progress. I do want to find ways to build on the success of last year but without reducing the quality of the uploads.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems. I'll be releasing new videos every day, and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great February!

With the upload of Space Invasion for the Tangerine Microtan 65 it means that all of the games for that system have been longplayed and uploaded onto the Gaming Exhibit channel.
It was a small library of 18 games, although 1 game was broken (The Sceptre of Hamloth) and couldn't be uploaded. But thanks to the Microtan's extremely simple graphics it did mean the arcade type games could run at a decent speed and were pretty fun.

Here is the playlist if you are interested.

End of December 2023 Update.

The picture below contains the systems with the most uploads for December 2023.
In total there were 20 commercial games completed in December.

*Games Update*
I managed to play some really good games across many different systems across December. Firstly Cholo for the BBC Micro which was technically advanced for its time and a good game to play as well. In addition, the absolutely massive Arc the Lad 1 & 2 was uploaded in December too. Then towards the end of the month I manage to upload the Animorphs PC game (look out for the Game Boy Color Animorphs game in January).

*Channel Update*
December was definitely the best month of the year for the channel, which is to be expected as I assume during the holiday period people have more time to watch their favourite longplays online. Views and watch time was up drastically. I have continued to upload shorts on a ad-hoc schedule to support the videos. I've found them to be fun to make but their success has been varied.
Finally I posted a few days ago that the channel managed to achieve the 5,000 subscriber milestone. This was achieved earlier than I expected which was great.

*Going Forward*
I'm hoping that the momentum the channel achieved during December can be continued and improved on through 2024. It will be tough in the crowded marketplace but I'll try to keep improving the channel. Having said that for now it is going to be difficult to increase the video output from 8 a week as I think I'm at the limit considering my work/life/game balance. So far I am planning to continue creating shorts on an ad-hoc basis as mentioned.
Finally, the Microtan 65 library will be finished in January I'm sure!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems. I'll be releasing new videos every day, and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great January and 2024!

In the early hours of Boxing Day the @GamingExhibit channel hit 5,000 subscribers!

I wasn't expecting to hit this milestone until early 2024 and so it is really great to see this hit early, especially during the holiday period. It goes without saying but I have to say thank you to the subscribers who take their time to view my longplays and go on to subscribe to this YouTube channel!

To celebrate I had a play with an AI art generator to try to generate something relating to GameCube and the number 5000 and I've shared my favourite of the bunch.

Have a great new year and an even better 2024

Thanks again

Sincerely,
Gremolin

End of November 2023 Update.

The picture below contains the systems with the most uploads for November 2023.
In total there were 23 commercial games completed in November.

*Games Update*
I've continued to enjoy the PS1 library this month and played some very good games. Animorphs, Apocalypse and Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis are all solid games to play today. Apocalypse somehow managed to exceed expectations and obtain over 2k views after a few days which is great in that regards. The final Mario Kart DLC track was released and it has been fun playing them on the Switch aswell, I wonder how the Mario Kart series can go forward from here because `8 Deluxe` has raised the bar for kart racing games.
One thing to keep an eye on it that the Microtan 65 library is almost complete.

*Channel Update*
It has been a good month in terms of views and subscribers for the channel when compared to the last 6 months. As mentioned I think the Apocalypse video helped with the views it obtained. Subscribers did so well in November that if the same rate occured in December then the 5000 milestone will be met this year. I've come up with a `Youtube Short` template and I've started to upload shorts more often when an idea pops into my head. It hasn't impacted the longplays too.

*Going Forward*
For December I'll be playing the usual libraries (Switch, PS1, C64, ZX Spectrum and BBC Micro). I'm expected the PS1 uploads to slow down as next up is Arc the Lad and from what I've heard it is a massive RPG. It would be good to play a game from one of the systems I don't usually play but it depends if I have time

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this progress update, it is nice to see numbers against the systems. I'll be releasing new videos every day, and I'm also looking forward to playing some new and old games.

Have a great December and enjoy the end to 2023
