Jim Rohn was born in Des Moines, Iowa on September 17th 1930. He attended the University of Northern Iowa where he majored in speech and theater arts. After graduating from college he became a salesman for IBM. In 1962 he left IBM to start his own company called Executive Development Systems which provided training courses to salespeople.
In the 1980s Jim Rohn began teaching seminars on personal development which led to him becoming a motivational speaker. His teachings were based on the idea that success is not just about money but also about how you live your life every day.
