'Nanny State' is the debut E.P. from Lockhead and Dogrock. A new video and music project by Scottish producer, musician and film maker G. S. Martin. This is his first official release in nearly a decade. A stripped back, no nonsense sound - predominantly upright bass, keys and drums. Featuring collaborations with vocalist Jennifer Culross on the title track and poet Inditer Reciter for 'Machine' the influences on this collection are likes of the Roy Ayres, Lester Bowie, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, Harold Alexander, Gil Scott-Heron of coarse the crate diggers and pioneers, Dilla, Madlib and Premier - to name a few - who taught us that sampling is an art form in its self.
There are 5 accompanying videos to be premiered on 5 consecutive nights from Monday the 4th of December at 7pm GMT starting with Nanny State - an all action space opera with the Princes Lamia taking on an evil Imperial army hell bent on the destruction of the Earth, all by herself.
