Sri Sharadamba Temple famous Hindu Temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati in the holy town of Sringeri in Karnataka, India The Sharadamba Temple at Sringeri (Shringa giri in Sanskrit) This temple is almost old around 1200years. it is believed that Adi Shankaracharya choose the site to stay and teach his disciples and impressed with his place he stayed there for 12years in the 8th century temple. Sri Adi Shankaracharya founded four peetham in the four places (mutts) .
1. Badrikasharm Jyotir Peth in the North .
2.Dwarka's Shardha peeth in the West.
3.Govardhan peeth in Puri in the East .
4. Sringeri sharada peeth in the South chikkamagalur district Karnataka .
