This trailer is kinda spoiler heavy if you played the original trilogy, so if you want to go blind I would advise you from watching it. But I had to share because it features yet another clips of my work on lighting in this game. Enjoy!

I wasn't active lately because this game is taking all my energy at the moment, so no time for hobbies at the moment. Very proud working with such a talented and passionate team, and can't wait to see your reactions when you'll see regions and locations I've been working on!

It's been a while since, so I guess I should provide a little update. As I've already mentioned in the previous post, I'm currently helping to develop S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl as a Lighting Artist. I can't share any detail for obvious reasons, but I can say that I work with an amazing team and we are determined to deliver a great game. Just as I expected, game development in such a big studio is a very dynamic and sometimes challenging process. But I love working on this project and I'm doing some really cool stuff that I can't wait to share with you.

As for my channel, I'm afraid I underestimated the time I need to take a break from it. As much as I love this hobby, right now I simply don't have enough energy for it. I started this channel when I had no future prospects and constantly struggled to meet ends between my ridiculously low paychecks. I could pull off making my long videos only because I used them to escape the shitty reality. But now that's not the case - I have a fun job with a good salary, I moved to EU and like it a lot here, and for once in a while I actually enjoying my life.

Meanwhile, the documentary I've spent almost a year in making has failed to find the audience. I had this naive thought that more effort into production quality would equal in more interest from viewers, but reality was different. I know that there's definitely an audience for long gaming essays because I watch such channels and videos myself. But I'm out of ideas on how to reach it and I'm tired of trying to figure out how to please the almighty Algorithm. Especially when every time I go to the YouTube Studio page, it keeps pestering me about trying making Shorts, which I absolutely despise. Those recent trends make me feel even more alienated and discouraged to create my type of essays.

So in a choice between making a long video that would interest a few hundred people and developing a game that is awaited by millions, I focused on the latter. I hope you understand this decision - my energy is limited, and at this stage S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 requires all my attention. I'm not closing the door for this channel completely tho, I might still unexpectedly publish a few short retrospectives! But the long-form content sadly would have to wait - at least until I'm done with my current project. Or when I get rich to be able to afford spending money on promotion of this channel. Thanks for all your support over the years, I'm sorry if this news might have disappoint you, but I hope that my next update would be on a more positive note.

I have important news to share with you guys. Just when I was ready to put all my creative energy into this channel, something unexpected happened. I got an opportunity to fulfil my lifelong goal to professionally work in the gamedev industry, so I took this chance. And after a few months of interviews, tests, and probation period, I'm excited to share that I joined GSC Game World as a Lighting Artist! As you might have guessed, I work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 now and I'm thrilled to be a part of the devteam. Obviously can't share any more details due to NDA, but as a huge fan of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, I'm super happy with what I saw so far. I worked hard towards this opportunity, and I'll do my best to help the team deliver an awesome game.

As for this channel, I'm still busy with settling all the matters, but I keep working on my next retrospective I hope to publish next month. PC Gaming Chronicles and other big documentaries are still on the table, including that long-promised video about the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. Though the bad news is, I won't be able to make a documentary about Heart of Chornobyl for a looooooong time lol. So yeah, things are super exciting and kinda chaotic simultaneously for me right now. I'll keep you posted, and thanks again for supporting this little hobby of mine. If not for this channel, I would have gone crazy ages ago because of all this mess that is happening right now in the world. Although I won't be able to invest as much time as I planned into this hobby, I still love creating my retrospective videos and not planning to stop anytime soon.

Hey guys, just a quick update. I'm currently finishing editing of my interview with Robert Woodhead, the creator of a cult-classic RPG series Wizardry. I'm also working on my next retrospective about another classic FPS from the 90s, and I have a few more ideas from my backlog that I plan to complete soon! A lot of things happening in my life so I'm actually very busy right now, but I'll try to keep up the current pace in creating new videos.

As for the next episode of PC Gaming Chronicles, I'm afraid it might take longer than I expected. Honestly, I'm kinda burned out and want to focus on a short form videos for now. Spending a year on making this documentary was a big gamble, and I'm proud of the results. But this project is too massive for me alone, and I didn't manage to find the audience for it yet. I'll keep working on the next episode and experimenting with the format of the show, but I don't know when I'll be able to publish it. Time will tell.
