'Ishq Vishk Rebound’ is a new story, not sequel: #RohitSaraf
Actor Rohit Saraf, who will be seen playing the lead role in “Ishq Vishk Rebound”, on Tuesday said the upcoming film is neither a sequel nor a remake of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer movie of the same name.

The 2003 romantic-comedy, “Ishq Vishk” marked the acting debut of Kapoor. The film was a sleeper hit and received positive reviews from critics and audiences, particularly for its soundtrack.

The first film was directed by Ken Ghosh and it also featured Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala opposite Kapoor. Marathi filmmaker Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari has helmed “Ishq Vishk Rebound”.

"It is not a remake or sequel of ‘Ishq Vishk’. The thing common between the two films is that they belong to the same franchise. But it’s a new story altogether, a love story about Gen Z,” Saraf told reporters here at a promotional event for the film.

The actor said it is a rare opportunity for a young actor to feature in a film like this.

Lok Sabha Polls: Modi, Gandhi address public as political fervour envelops Delhi

As the political fever in Delhi reaches a crescendo, a vibrant hue of saffron and green enveloped parts of the national capital on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the talk of North East Delhi as he addressed his maiden rally in the constituency.

Just half an hour’s drive away, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also held a massive rally at the Ramlila Maidan in Ashok Vihar. Along with Gandhi, all three party’s candidates from Delhi — Kanhaiya Kumar, JP Aggarwal, and Udit Raj — were also present at the rally.

The excitement was palpable among voters who were drenched in dust and periodically gulped from sealed glasses of water.

The Ramlila Maidan echoed with chants of “Rahul, Rahul”.

Iconic restaurant ‘The Grill Room’ reopens after four years
In a bid to redefine dining experiences and catering to the evolving tastes of guests, The Lalit New Delhi has revamped its iconic restaurant — The Grill Room, and thrown it open after a gap of four years.
The restaurant was closed in 2020 during the pandemic.

“It has been opened for the guests and we will be serving dinner only,” the hotel management said.

The Grill Room was famous in the 90s for its food, white-glove service, and charming décor.
The restaurant has a new menu promising a gastronomic adventure through fine meat, seafood, and poultry from across the globe.

“Our gourmet selection includes premium steaks celebrated for their succulent meat quality, alongside master chef-recommended dishes such as New Zealand lamb chops, pan-seared sea bream, and slow-cooked lamb shank,” they said.

“It brings the iconic restaurant with its flavoursome menu – iconic dishes paired with new age wines.”

Each dish is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with microgreens, air-dried flowers, fleur de sel (French sea salt), and an assortment of flavoured salts to enhance the flavours.

Not forgetting its vegetarian guests, the menu also features exquisite selections such as goat cheese tart, cheese empanada, and asparagus risotto.

To elevate the dining experience further, French sommelier Charles Don Adieu has thoughtfully paired each dish with the perfect wine, ensuring a harmonious blend of flavours and textures.

Excessive earbuds use can cause hearing loss, allergy, warn experts
In the age of ubiquitous technology, especially with smartphones, more people, particularly the youth, are using earbuds extensively to enjoy music on the go. However, experts warn that this prolonged use can lead to hearing loss, allergic reactions, and infections, urging careful use and proper education on safe listening practices.

Whether travelling in a bus, metro or plane, one can find an increasing number of people, especially the youth, spending hours using various portable audio devices, mostly earbuds to enjoy music.

Experts say that continuous and excessive use of earbuds can lead to temporary hearing loss, allergic responses. Moreover, there is no education on how to use them and keep your ears safe.

Patriot got in touch with two doctors Dr Zafarullah Beigh, ENT Specialist and Assistant Professor at Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir and Dr Mamta Gandhi (BHMS, MD) to understand more on this.

“Prolonged use of earbuds could cause temporary hearing loss and if it continues could result in permanent damage to the ears,” Dr Beigh said.

“The combination of the environmental noise and the temptation to increase the volume levels to drown out external distraction poses a significant threat to the delicate structures of the inner ear,” he said.
He said that the risk extends beyond mere volume. “The very materials that make earbuds a marvel of modern engineering can also be their downfall. Nickel, Silicone, and Rubber—ingredients used in the making of the earbuds could lead to allergic responses and skin irritation, transforming our auditory experience into a battleground for our body’s defences,” he said.

Dark spots hound Delhi as vast stretches of roads remain without streetlights
The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has identified 19 dark spots — stretches lacking streetlights — around multiple bus stops in the national capital.

The data, exclusively accessed by Patriot, was compiled by the statutory body in December when Swati Maliwal was the chairperson. It lists dark spots in Mangolpuri, Rohini, Laxmi Nagar, Shastri Park, Delhi University North Campus, among other places.

“These places were identified as dark spots in December when we had taken the initiative to go around to demarcate them. We had identified these places when Swati spearheaded the campaign. However, it has been some time since, yet no action has been taken by agencies,” said Prem Prakash Dhal, DCW Secretary.

A senior official at the statutory body said that they have filed multiple complaints with all landowning agencies.
“It is a painstaking process since we have to deal with the landowning agencies the hard way. Sometimes they answer, but most times they do not. However, they pass the blame every time,” said the official.

According to the official, the land-owning agencies have been identified as the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Public Works Department (PWD).

Patriot visited 12 dark spots to understand the seriousness of the situation.

In East Delhi, the Pushta Road stretch from Lalita Park to Bank Enclave is engulfed in darkness.

Celebrating Moms: A Heartwarming Tribute to Motherhood
Members of YFLO, Delhi, along with their mothers, were welcomed at the event to celebrate the essence of motherhood. Attendees were treated to an array of heartwarming moments and captivating stories that highlighted the unparalleled bond between mothers and their children.

The event’s focus was on the insightful narratives shared by actors #SharmilaTagore and her granddaughter Saraalikhan . Both shared their pathbreaking experiences and celebrated the joys and challenges of motherhood, deeply moving the audience.

Reflecting on the event, Payal Kanodia, Chairperson of YFLO, Delhi, said, “Celebrating Moms’ was an ode to the unconditional love and sacrifices of mothers everywhere. It was a privilege to host such an inspiring event and witness the power of motherhood firsthand.”

Tagore, renowned actor and mother, shared, "Motherhood is a journey filled with profound moments of joy and growth. It was heartening to see so many mothers and daughters come together to celebrate this beautiful bond.”

When asked about the influence of technology on motherhood compared to her own experience, Tagore responded, “Having witnessed motherhood firsthand, I can attest to the profound impact that technology has had on the experience. Back when I was raising my children, cellphones and advanced tech were not as prevalent as they are today. Nowadays, whether I’m shooting on a set or away from home, I’m always just a phone call away from kids. This constant connectivity has completely changed the dynamics of parenting, allowing me to stay informed and involved in my children’s lives no matter where I am. It’s truly remarkable how much tech has reshaped the way we navigate motherhood.”
