Its been a while y'all but I should have the camera back out in the shop later this week to work on an upcoming video! Going to be trying something a little different this time around both with what I am turning and how I will approach the video... Stay tuned!

Still here and turning away! Had to put videos on pause for the past few weeks due to some family matters and now just playing catch up and getting ready for my next shop update. Finally getting back on track and should have a video out this coming Monday or next!

This massive cherry burl (which I haven't turned a burl in almost 8 years) was dropped off at the shop a few weeks ago but we were unsure of just how good the wood actually was. Its been a few months since I have turned a hollow form so I thought it would be fun to revisit those and turn one from this beautiful piece of oak. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this piece when I cut it out. I was curious to see how it would look with a split running up the bottom but was pleasantly surprised when It was all said and done! Some beautiful grain patterns and figure in this piece and overall just very happy with how it turned out. So check it out and let me know what you think!

New video out and this one is a special one! 10 years of turning and this is only the second time I have ever turned box elder AND I happened to get it just by chance! Took a break from the shop this week to break out the chainsaw mill and slab up some sweet gum logs! I have only ever turned sweet gum so it was a great time getting to mill it up for slabs. I have been a little slack lately keeping up with Youtube these past two months. It's been a while since I have done any events and having to do a few over the past few weeks reminded me of just how much attention needs to go into them especially when they come up at such short notice. But now that they are out of the way and I have a little bit of a break until my next one, its time to get back to focusing on the videos! Going to try and have one this coming Monday but if not then there will definitely be one the following week and its one that's been in the works for months...

Still here and working away; Had to take a little break from videos to get prepared for my first big show in five years! Was hoping to do a video on this and some behind the scenes of how I get ready for shows but time got away from me and I was totally unprepared for it by the time the weekend came BUT I am hoping to try again at another show later this year. Anyways, new video coming this Monday!

In my latest video ( https://youtu.be/qNIJcxxrCic ), I showed off a maple bowl that I had turned and mentioned that I might show the oiling of that bowl in this video. Well I had all intentions of doing that but when I went to go oil it, I found a few spots on the bowl that needed a little touching up and so I wasn't able to finish it in time for it to be included in the video. Since I wasn't able to show it in the video though, I thought I would share with y'all on here! So here is the gnarly maple bowl that was featured in my video all finished up!
