You guys should watch this. Eric has the tower 300 and As you guys know Iāve yet to push out my video for the same case for several reasons. Some of the reasons are listed in the video. I didnāt have as much temp disparity but the i/o struggle are hell lol. I will eventually show you guys my build and the tips and tricks I found to make living with this case easier for me but still a struggle for many. Itās not all sunshine and rainbows but itās a beautiful case and I still love mine and I think I will keep it and enjoy it since I put so much into it and for the most part my setups doing well but this should be a strong warning that this experience can wildly differ.
Another reason Iām hesitant and sus of the rog ally ram upgrade service. Thereās only a very small section of people 1: skilled enough with the right equipment to pull it off and 2: Iāve already seen several people get both doa and defective memory chips. Also thereās a huge possibility over time the solder balls may separate from the board and you have failed memory or memory errors. Bga chip desoldering and desoldering is extremely risky and always comes with a risk associated. The last part is not a single flipping soul has produced side by side test from any of the people whoāve either had it done or do it for a service. Ask yourself why, if the service is profitable would they not take 5 mins to play a games that can demonstrate it working as intended?
I get asked day after day when will I upgrade the ram on my ally as if itās something you can diy at home lol. People donāt understand these guys arenāt using a heat gunā¦.. to do proper bga ram chip soldering you need a massive amount of concentrated heat. If your heat source also isnāt hot enough youāll easily rip pads off the board and your big time screwed. Also if you donāt have a board heater your up the creek as well. You better have a board heater and a very good quality hot air rework station (not a soldering station on Amazon lol)
You also need a digital magnifier likely as well to see what youāre doing and hella good lighting. One small slip up and you ruin the device forever. Or even if you get it all done perfect and you got fake ram chips or doa ones you have to order more and do it all over again puttin the board at more risk. Every time itās heated it weakens it and can deform it and burn it up completely. Is it worth the risk ? Nope š so please guys donāt risk it esp now that weāre seeing more and more fake chips and doa chips. Jus donāt

The Thermaltake tower 300 is such an awesome case but thereās two small caveats Iād love to share a few ways to make it not even an issue.
I also came up with a few simple and easy case mods to make everything fit and have even better temps as well if you were thinking about getting this case lmk. Itās worth w eye penny!

Iām really struggling with pulling the trigger on the Ally x for 2 reasons. Iād like to hear what you guys think because at the end of the day I value the opinions of you guys a lot.
1: money is EXTREMELY tight, I really was hoping Iād be able to get some stuff sold to help fund it by now but that didnāt work out
2: Iām not really afraid of the hate Iāll get for buying it but more of the fear of people being so jaded about it and not even showing up to watch the video or to make it a worth while purchase.
I know Iād enjoy the heck out of the ally x for various reasons and I can justify the cost for my specific use case scenarios. Not everyone can and not everyone needs the ally x but for those who do its honestly a solid device. I also know not everyoneās on the same page with the asus drama but as of now my faith in asus is bounds different than it was a few weeks ago. Iāve never hated asus as a company and Iāve usually had amazing products from them (warranty aside).
With that said, whatās your thoughts? Would people just be shidding on me in the comments? Will I be a lolcow for buying it? Do you wanna see mods for it ? Because if I can some how manage to get some funds together, Iāve already drummed up several mods I can do on day one and even already have most of the gear ready lol š
Iām just kind of burned out trying to figure out what you guys wanna see or how to frame my videos. Iām just down bad right now mentally after the last few videos got so much hate and some other drama thatās gone on. I can handle some heckling and people being mad but I think people are being a bit too harsh and not really understanding the stress we go through and how difficult it is for people especially me with a lot of unsaid things I deal with.
I had this big video thing planned for 5k and after a sponsor ghosting me after it was all set in stone, people talking mad trash both on and off YouTube ā¦. Bros Iām kinda just like really questioning a lot right now in both what direction to go in and also just figuring out who I can trust. Iāve been good to everyone and I give everyone my heart and soul and offer everything I can.
