Jurgen Habermas, (1929 - )

1. “The clever, albeit fragile, coalition against terrorism brought together by the U.S. government might be able to advance the transition from classical international law to a cosmopolitan order”

2. “Global terrorism is extreme both in its lack of realistic goals and in its cynical exploitation of the vulnerability of complex systems. One never really knows who one's enemy is. I consider Bush's decision to call for a war against terrorism a serious mistake. He is elevating these criminals to the status of war enemies, and one cannot lead a war against a network if the term war is to retain any definite meaning”

3. “The misery in war-torn Afghanistan is reminiscent of images from the Thirty Years' War cannot imagine a context that would some day, in some manner, make the monstrous crime of September 11 an understandable or comprehensible political act.

4. “Manhattan... capital of the 20th century, a city that has fascinated me for more than three decades”

“The state is in danger of falling into disrepute due to the evidence of its inadequate resources”

My New Understanding of George Soros

I knew very little about #Soros besides what right-wing media wants us to know about him. He is a billionaire who hates America and funds district attorney’s across the country to increase crime to overthrow our government. Yes, he is a billionaire but the latter to know I do not believe the other two to be true. I think right-wing media protects Soros and act as a gatekeeper for him…

The Bubble of American Supremacy

Chapter 10: Historical Prospective

Soros talks about some key historical events in particular the collapse of the Soviet Union. Soros was complimentary of Ronald Reagan multiple times in this book. Early in the book he credits Reagan for boosting the rise of global capitalism. It would not surprise me if Soros had a lot of influence on the Reagan administration. ‪@HistoryTimeOut‬
