Karachi Boat Club was founded in 1881 and it was one of the first boat clubs in the East. KBC
rowers first took in an international competition in 1883 in
Poona, India, and the Club has remained active since that time,
hosting regattas for its members and sending teams to national
and international competitions. Karachi Boat Club was a founding
member of the Amateur Rowing Association of the East in 1927,
and hosted its first international regatta in 1995. Located on the
China Creek in Karachi, KBC provides ideal conditions for rowing
especially because the mangroves act as a natural wind barrier.
