Our buddy Nat Myers is got the surprise of a lifetime. Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer, on his heart. Nat is an incredible interpreter of the blues, but also just a really, really great guy. My first time meeting him is documented on this channel (https://youtu.be/oZJKexPnQ7E). He invited me and Tim to his parents house in Covington, Kentucky, and showed us around where he grew up along the Ohio river. His mom cooked up some delicious Korean food.
Being a musician isn't an especially luxurious life. It can be fulfilling, to create joy for people, make them dance and express yourself through joyous (and sometimes blue) notes. But you don't have security. Hell, none of us, musician or not, have much security in America. When it comes to medical emergencies, its basically a given you're going to be financially destitute, and have your life destroyed. You're liable to die just from the stress of the financial burden. I'm going to go ahead and state the "controversial" part out loud; medical care shouldn't be tied to employment. Universal healthcare is moral. Capitalism and healthcare are not compatible, at least not when it comes to life-saving medicines. The incentives are not aligned. There's an incredibly powerful lobby of wealthy businesses trying to convince you this is wrong, and if you believe them, you're fooled.
Anyway, as is the norm, the only way for Nat to possibly fight what some doctors are telling him is a death sentence is to have the funds necessary. So here's the place to go to help. Casper is back. Yes, that guy. The one with the face tats that robbed tons of fans. I delisted all his vids a couple years ago, he wanted to fight me, and we were not on speaking terms. Well, we're back, he apologized, not just to me but to the hundreds of people he ripped off. Not just with words, but he actually fuckin paid people, which is incredible. How many rug pulls and scams voluntarily PAY BACK THEIR VICTIMS. To me, that's everything.
Anyway, he had a kid, changed his life and is trying this music thing again. Which is dope, because I think he is super talented and has a great mind for this sort of thing. Hope y'all dig it. Channels been quiet as i've reconsider everything about this whole YouTube world. Lots of changes since I started back in 2010. The algorithm is more TikTok than ever. It shows people whatever brainrot will get them hooked, and ignores what they're subscribed to. New music ain't easy to show folks on here. Who knows what i'll do next, but I've enjoyed putting these little in-office performances out.
