I'm working on a video - and I want to include YOUR story in it.
So tell me about the WORST person you ever worked with ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Ya know...
- The one who pretended to be your friend but lied to your boss to steal your promotion.
- The coworker whose political beliefs is their entire personality and believes all conspiracy theories because it makes them feel smart.
- The office gossip who mines and gaslights to get personal information to have something to talk about.

I hope to integrate some of your stories into this video in development.

Please only comment if you are comfortable having me share your story (for obvious reasons).

If you don't feel comfortable writing here you can also email it to toxicjobstory@gmail.com

One of my favorite ways to unplug from work is going to the cinema.
So I was excited when โ€ช@youtubecreatorsโ€ฌ invited me to attend a screening of #GladiatorII

For starters, YouTube knows how to put an event on.

We were treated to themed cocktails, snacks, and even a Colosseum shaped bucket of popcorn.

And it was lovely to meet other New York City based Creators ofc.

But the point; the movie.

It was *exactly* what I expected it to be.

Visually, it was dazzling. I'm an ancient history girlie, so I love seeing it on screen.

I've always loved an action flick, and the fact that the spectacle of violence and death entertained the masses - which seems wrong until you put it in perspective that we watch simulated violence for entertainment -

And like all action movies you can enjoy the show.

But, if you know me, I always bring it deeper.

Gladiator II gave me deeper themes to contemplate: power, freedom, tyranny.

There were also so many examples of dark and light power moves that don't just apply to ancient Empires - they appear in your workplace everyday.

I have a lot of thoughts on it, and I can't wait for y'all to see it in theaters on November 22nd so we can discuss!

Did you see the original? Are you planning to see the new one?

I've been thinking a lot this week about the dynamic between fear and power.

The easiest mechanism of control is fear. This is true at work, in relationships, and in society.

I know this week, I know many people are experiencing a lot of fear.

So I'm going to unpack
๐Ÿ‘‰ The enormous impact fear has on your life you're complete unaware of
๐Ÿ‘‰ How to identify what drives fear
๐Ÿ‘‰ Simple steps you can take to be fearless under pressure (or at least appear to be)

It'll be in your inbox Sunday at 3pm ET if you're a Career Bestie Insider.

No one wants to deal with unnecessary drama at work.
Unfortunately, your toxic coworker Nick has nothing better to do with his time than try to ruin your life.

So many of my clients come to be because they're stuck in toxic office politics they want nothing to do with.

They've kept their head down and flown out of the radar to avoid it...

Yet they've found themself the target.

Follow these three steps to delete yourself from drama at work once and for all - especially the third one. It is an absolute game-changer.

PS: Here's an invite to my weekly newsletter where I'm unpacking office politics all month long careerbestieinsider.com

Most of the people I speak with tell me they avoid office politics because they want to stay out of it.
The thing is: it has the opposite effect.

This is why no matter how much you avoid the toxic office gossip and your overly ambitious coworker - you still find yourself targeted by them.

This week's CBI is going to lay out the exact power dynamics at play, what you're really trying to avoid, and how to *actually* avoid it.

I want you to own your power unapologetically at work and this edition will help you achieve just that.

If you want to join the Career Bestie Insider for free (and get this edition) go to

Now I'm curious: have you ever avoided office politics only to find yourself in the middle of them?

Share this with your work bestie who got you through the toxic job.

Seriously... you would have been even more miserable if they hadn't been there to
๐Ÿ‘‰ Validate it was toxic AF (and not just you)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Let you vent when you needed to get it out
๐Ÿ‘‰ Made you laugh when things were intense to relieve the stress
๐Ÿ‘‰ Support you through your toxic job escape
๐Ÿ‘‰ Affirm not everyone is awful.

Toxic workplaces are inherently low in trust.

Having a work bestie you could trust through it all did more than you can even articulate.

If you haven't told them lately, send them this post to tell them how much they mean to you.

And don't forget to subscribe ๐Ÿ’œ

Have you ever had to work with someone you hate?
(Here's how to work with them WITHOUT being miserable)

In my corporate career, I found myself in this exact predicament.

I had to work closely with who can only be described as one of the most toxic people I've encountered.

This individual regularly
- Belittled colleagues.
- Initiated most of the toxic office gossip.
- Sabotaged others at work.

Unfortunately, she had the ear (and the trust) of one of the executives and, on more than one occasion, convinced them that others were the problem.

I knew I had to do something to both be able to get my job done - and insulate myself from her.

Here's what I did
- Isolated the cause of the conflict.
- Leveraged 6 powerful strategies to neutralize her (one was so unexpected, she had *no idea* what to do).
- Used psychology backed tactics to protect my own energy.

Ultimately, not only was I able to work effectively with her, I was able to expose that she was the problem (without saying anything to anyone).

I don't gatekeep so in this week's edition Career Bestie Insider, I'm getting into the details of exactly how I did this.
