I received this in the post today.. I’m not naturally the type of person to swoon upon receipt of awards, but I do recognise the significance of the milestone. 100,000 people. It’s a lot of people!
However, I truly think the significance of this plaque isn’t in the number etched on it, but in the potential for limitless possibility.
Firstly, my videos are about people and places, and periods in time. Nothing more and nothing less. I had a vision over a year ago to try to capture humans and their stories. I have met some truly inspirational people on this journey. I genuinely thank every individual who has been kind and brave enough to tell me about their lives on camera. They are the true stars of the videos.
Back to the notion of endless possibilities.. I want people who have an idea, a grand vision, to understand that the plaque I received today is physical proof that you can achieve anything if you truly commit to the idea.
Literally anything is possible. Don’t let initial failure, low numbers, mistakes, criticism from those who don’t understand or even financial limitations put you off. If you stumble.. dust yourself off, check your ego isn’t running wild, re-evaluate and go again on your grand plan. If you have enough conviction, learn-as-you-go and a true appreciation for the virtue of patience and timing - you can achieve absolutely anything. The key is humble unwavering confidence.
Thank you to everyone who has watched and subscribed. I’m only just getting started. These videos are about people and places and I hope you all find humanity and value in the interactions.
