Hey Lovely Folks, I'm sat editing and listening to the rain this afternoon, fingers crossed the next video will get rendered tonight, for release tomorrow. :)

We are fast approaching 2000 Subscribers here, which is absolutely incredible! Thank you all so much for being here. :)

Would folks be interested in a 2K AMA video? Doesn't have to be Viking related although I do love talking about that subject! If so, let me know in the comments and I will pop up a video for you to add questions to as we get close to the 2K mark!

Have a fab day folks. :)

Guess which video I just finished filming! Yes I am back at it, slower than I hoped but it's coming! I will edit it all over the weekend and it will be out next week, and then it is on to the 'sew with me' style tutorials as we assemble our simple Tunics and Dresses!

I will do my absolute best to get those out to you as soon as I can, but sometimes, to get it right means taking a little longer than expected! Hang in there folks and thanks for sticking with me!

Hi Lovely Folks, I've not been filming this week as plague has struck our humble abode, and smallest Wyrdling has needed me, however, I have been busy working on a little accessory for my Low-Status kit!

This is a little cap, based on finds from Dublin. It's made from a rectangle of natural linen, with a turned hem. I've sewn the back with tiny whip stitches and left a split at the bottom for my bun to sit in as that's usually how I wear my hair at shows.

It is edged with a fine linen braid which is a mix of natural and Walnut dyed thread, that runs all the way around the edges, to give it some weight and protect the fabric, and then extends into two ties for under the chin.

I will share more details about it when I share the finished kit, but for now, here are some pictures. :)

Hi Lovely Folks. :)

This is what I'm working on right now, a very special dress, entierly hand sewn in linen, with 4m of handmade linen braid trim, almost done now after 2 weeks of work, which has included devising a new technique for adding contrasting trim around the hem, finishing the last bit of the hem today, and it will be finished, phew! I've not been able to film recently, it's been a bit of a rough time but I'm hoping to be back filming next week. Hope you are all having a lovely summer. :)

Hi Lovely Folks! I know things have been quiet here recently, but that's because I've been out and about at shows for most of May and celebrating my 40th as well! Fear not, scripts are being written, filming is occurring, but the next video will be a few weeks away yet as there are more shows and a birthday trip to be attended!

This video shows an acting scene at the show, a depiction of a court scene where grievances are brought before the Lord and Abbot, and traitors are uncovered. You might recognise the voice of the poor beaten up midwife Ælfgive! Acting is such a fun way to get involved in the life of the camp and brings warriors and non-combatants together. :)

The was taken at the Harwell Feast, a May Bank Holiday show hosted by the amazing Ulfrafnar, one of our Societies other groups, and posted by one of our newest Groups, Danum Vikings, well worth a follow if you want to see what some other UK reenactors are getting up to!

This is our show last weekend, some lovely videography here, loads of shots of the amazing LHE and all the characters you can meet at our shows. If you have discovered ElvenDale you might recognise the viking with the lyre! There is even a brief shot of me, deep in conversation with the Abbot and Abbess!

Hey Folks, if you are in the East of England, come and see us this weekend! This is my reenactment group's big show of the year , we are joined by other groups within the Society for a huge event. :)

The Vikings are coming to Flag Fen! Join us at Flag Fen Archaeology Park, The Droveway, Northey Road, Peterborough. PE6 7QJ, 10am -5pm from Saturday, 4th May, to Monday the 6th May 2024!

Find out what life was like in our Village Encampment. See how the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons made the things they needed for daily life, what their food and clothing was like, learn viking games, and see their musical instruments!

Throughout the day there will be displays showing off the strength and power of Viking Age Weaponry and Warriors, Why not come and try out a Longbow at our Have-A-Go Archery Range, and of course, dont miss the Main Battle, where you will get to see our warriors show off their skills and fight in an epic reenactment of the final Battle of St Edmund against the Great Heathen Army!

Flag Fen has many other attractions too, from the amazing Preservation Hall where you can see ancient artefacts to the museum buildings, round houses, play park, cafe and shop. We can't wait to see you!

9pm on the day before we travel to the show, didn't finish everything but got the important bits done, added a little braid trim to the neckline of this tunic, one more to braid and sew on a dress and I can finish for the night!

IT'S DONE FOLKS!

The God's of Technology smiled on me last night at about 4am, and it all suddenly started working again and it all fell in to place and rendered without glitches (as far as I can tell!), so this will be releasing in full, with proper captions for those that need them TOMORROW!

The PDF is ready to go as well and will be published in the description and will get its own video in the PDF's series when I've recovered from editing this beast!

Couple of quick pics of a simple kirtle for the youngest Wyrdling, on somewhat of a mission to get them new kit made in the next ten days before Flag Fen! Hit a bit of a snag today as every time I load the final section of the big video into the editor... it crashes. So I'm going to keep trying... I've managed to get a full copy rendered, but it may be this one will have to go up without properly edited subtitles for now. I will keep you posted! Not long now!
