If there's any other nerds out there wanting to record their running or hiking activities, here's my 3D print-augmented, work-in-progress camera rig. It's been a fun little amateur engineering project.

The camera is a DJI Osmo Action 4 with a SmallRig cage. The "pommel" is filled with resin and balances the weight of the camera to make it more comfortable to hold while I'm running; it also holds an extra battery and microSD card.

Coming up this week: a 6.7 mile run through Lester Park on the east side of Duluth, MN! Historic Seven Bridges road and Hawk Ridge overlooking the Lakeside neighborhood. This used to be one of my favorite [but challenging] runs when we lived in Lakeside. As an "urban" park, Lester Park is legit; it has scenery that rivals some state parks and a good portion of it is accessible via vehicle if you're not a runner or mountain biker.

New virtual trail run video! A 6-ish (1hr+) mile loop starting from and ending in Chambers Grove Park in Duluth's Fond du Lac neighborhood. I hit the trail in the early evening on a Saturday night and only saw a single [quite conscientious] mountain biker.

Make sure you catch my parkour demonstration and mud hole traversal. Also, the guest appearances by my wife and our dog, Molly.

Coming up very soon: an hour-long (and change) run through Jay Cooke State Park! Jay Cooke is located about 20 miles Southwest of Duluth and is famous for its swinging bridge and unique geology. It also has a few Olympic-size mud pits -- and a handful of hills that'll make you wish for the sweet release of death.

I'll probably do a mini video about my 3D-printed deer/horse fly catcher at some point, but it's pretty self-explanatory, really -- and could probably be just an index card covered with goop.

It's a little gross, but it makes a HUGE difference this time of year.

Here's the sticky goop I use: amzn.to/3SE6XrR

A single can has lasted for years -- and is still half full.
