The European Nature Trust (TENT) supports and funds well-founded initiatives, which preserve and restore the last remaining wild habitats in Europe.
In its formative years, TENT focused on environmental projects at Alladale Wilderness Reserve in the Scottish Highlands. These included:
• The restoration of native forestry
• The reintroduction of native wildlife
• Youth education
• Peatland Restoration
In 2007, TENT recognised the importance of protecting the last remaining areas of wilderness in Europe – perhaps one of the most spectacular of these being in the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania. Since then, TENT has been involved in a number of projects that aim to protect this area of outstanding natural beauty for today and for generations to come. These include:
•Raising funds from wildland philanthropists to contribute to the protection of over 100,000 hectares of forestry in the Carpathians
• The production of Wild Carpathia I, II, III - a series of documentaries raising awa
