Hello! I dont update here much in the community tab but i want to utilize it to talk about what I am doing on the web since I uh. Did not do like... anything on my channel this year

First off, i have been active with art-- on tumblr, twitter, bluesky (all usernames are spikeinthepunch) for social media. Then sheezy (spikeinthepunch) and deviantart (morrysillusion) for galleries sites. If you havent seen my art progression through the year its been shifting towards a lotta nostalgic design-- frutiger metro inspired especially lol. Got more into learning about vector art. Additionally starting to work on 3D stuff too!

I have been quite busy writing my story Penrose which is not released, but you can witness the slowly building prologue on this fake forum based in the world (it updates randomly): twistedroots.net/

These last months have kinda taken away my time from updating that project and releasing new stuff but if you want to follow my art and projects check out my social media links! I dont really expect to be making video here much honestly, with my planned projects are not videos. But they may pop up randomly in relation to them (like the recent Twisted Roots video).

I know there is a lot of confusion when people come across my sonic/shadow covers being unlisted (i guess people find them through other people's playlists a lot? which is wild to me. i never touch other people's mixes lol...) but i do want to just leave a statement here to assure and clarify things:

i did not unlist them because i *hate* them. i unlisted them because i dont want them as the face of my channel. i dont want *any* of my vocal synth cover to be the face of my channel anymore. its just not what i am pursuing anymore, so its not what i want people to heavily associate me with the moment they open my youtube page! and the association is not for negative reasons!

i put them on a public playlist. theyre all available through a public playlist, because theyre unlisted and not private. i know most people arent clicking on the playlist tab for my channel but please do... theyre all still there! (same with vocaloid covers in general! and some MAP parts!)

but No, i am not making them anymore. While they are Utau voice banks and not AI, there has also been a big shift in what people assume is being made. Its annoying to deal with the idea that people will think im stealing voices through AI, and i already knew back then the risk of people seeing me splice up their voices to sing anyways. i do not have any issues w my covers or what i did, it was not the same as how dangerous AI is now in faking people in a convincing way.
When diff-svc was made early on i even tested some covers with data off of sonic and shadow! i was about to consider making covers that way (using synth v voices as sources) and i didnt feel like it was too wrong at the time to do so. if you scroll to the bottom of my whyp page, you can actually hear some of what i did: whyp.it/users/88/morrysillusion/tracks

so that is also another reason i wanted to lay low and not be associated to some extent. id never use AI for some bad things ever and so i quickly reconsidered and didnt go further. and the idiocy of the public making this a buzzword they dont understand makes all this talk and use of AI very frustrating anyways. and its frustrating to know people could look back and completely misread what i was making too. its all very complicated, as much as i think these Utaus are still a fun experiment because they are obviously just spliced. i think thats the charm in them still...

so yeah, thats kinda all the thoughts i have. just havent voiced.
i also recommend following my soundcloud because those tracks are all public and easy to access, and there are numerous covers i never made videos for. soundcloud.com/shadowutau/tracks (there is a chance i may try and dig up covers i finished and never posted, and share them here)

hey fun fact but if you come to my new normal public videos to tell me to make things i dont make anymore, you are going to make it even less likely that i will ever consider doing said thing again. its also insensitive and disrespectful
