Do you ever have a wonderful day where everything just felt right? I had a moment like that recently in the snow. It was playful and fun and perfect. But what happens to me next, is that I want hang on just a little bit too long. I want to extend the day somehow, or try to recreate it in some way to experience it again. This is what I find I want to do when the snow is "Melting" and the moment has passed. I have learned that there is great peace in allowing experience to be a snapshot in time. This piece represents when a delightful experience is over and allowing ourselves to let it pass to make room for what's next.

Allowing myself to play is one of the most important things I have found I have to do keep my heart happy and my hand steady. The demands and worries of merely staying alive in this life often feel like they want to overtake my sense of joy. The pressure often makes me feel as though I can’t be lighthearted, play, or even smile because there is so much pain and suffering out there, problems in my communities to fix, it almost feels irreverent in hard times to let yourself be happy when others are in pain. But there is something about a fresh snow that begs me to slow down and let myself be in the luxury of the moment. And then I remember, joy cultivates the love in my heart necessary to care for others. It’s necessary at times to go “Dancing with the Snow.” This piece represents youthful energy and creativity in an exchange that allows the heart a moment to rest, wake up, and just be. ❄️❤️
