@jasongallardo7390 asked for an update photo of the barbell I painted, so here it is! This is after 2 months of use (4-5x / wk). Only the sleeves have this wear. The shaft hasn’t been touched up since I painted it a year ago. When I do touch it up, I use the same rust reformer by rust-oleum. 30 sec later (maybe a few minutes to dry) it looks good as new. I touch up every few months or if I want it looking really nice when someone comes over for a joint workout 🏋️♂️ For a used bare steel barbell that was covered in rust to this, I’m happy with the result and the minimal maintenance.
