Sooo my external hard drive with all of my samples and videos has randomly broken, which means all of my mashups I've been working on now have to have all the samples redownloaded. Thankfully, all the projects themselves and exported samples are still on my computer, so all I lost is probably tons of hours that it will take to redownload every file I need to work on the projects I lost. Hopefully it won't take too long to gain back all of the things I've lost, and thankfully I have been only working on big things preventing me from posting as much here, so you guys probably won't notice any changes. πππ

I've been seeing a lot of comments lately saying my usage of songs seems too "noisy" or "muddled", but I just wanna say that this is my own way of making music, and I definitely not trying to copy anyone in my style, this is just the way I personally make music. I grew up on edm mashups that use small chops of songs that are harder to recognize, and transfering this personal way into mashups has been a challenge, but I try my best to keep it interesting enough. All of the most popular songs I felt defined this year were used usually in at least 2 or 3 different ways, and the lesser popular ones were used as small details. Reminder also that mashups are not made for you specifically, and are much more of a thing I use to work on my own music skills, and less to satisfy everyone that watches it. I understand for most mashup creators people will always have to deal with this, but this is obviously the most I've gotten since this mashup was much more personalized to how I make music rather than just another year-end that is pushed out. This mashup is also much more personal to me, and a lot of the themes and ideas I have in the mashup come from my personal inspirations, and some of my life experiences. I obviously think you shouldn't have to like my mashups, but I would appreciate people to not comment onto my mashups with 2 sentences about "it sounds weird" or "doesn't sound good" because that does not help me. I've gotten a couple comments that are actually really nice, and give some good criticism, and I really appreciate them! I'm just tired of getting comments trying to compare me to other mashup artists in the community, because this megamix felt like much more to me than just another year end.
To the people who always are there to give me support and give me criticism that helps me know what I am good at and what I can work on, I greatly appreciate it! Seeing comments about which artists or which segments excited you to hear or impressed you genuinely makes me so happy. I understand that these negative comments mostly come from people who haven't listened to mashups as long as other or aren't trying to be respectful, but this is the first time it feels like it's actually getting to me.
If you haven't commented on the video yet, please watch and tell me parts that you liked, and parts you think I could do better at! This helps me a lot and genuinely makes me feel supported.
